Didn't see a thread for this. In our campaign the player characters are level 15. They have been empowered by an evil and very powerful god. (Turned story evil with similar goals) they were given a chance to reverse this a few seasons later by a former ally or to fight that former ally. The group was split on what to do and after 30 mins of debate one of of the players said their charter’s traits and past would have them take the offer and went good again. Respect for the RP of this. But it left the other players feeling like they had to make the same choice. And they did, but a couple players still feel railroaded.
Any my thoughts on this? I do believe everyone will be fine and enjoy things next season. Just wondering if others have had twist like this and how it played out.
It's an unfortunate situation - but what could you have done that would change it?
It doesn't sound like this is something you can affect - so it's not your responsibility to deal with. And in the hands of good role-players, this can be point of inter-character conflict to be resolved at a later date - using it for Character development.
Doesn't mean you can't be concerned/sympathetic for the players than feel forced, however.

About the only other option would have been to retire the characters in the minority and have the players roll new characters and/or split the campaign across to parties (possibly with each player controlling a character in each party).
There is not really an eloquent solution to these problems. From character perspective it would have msde sense for the party to split/disband, but obviously players (and DMs) would want to keep the party together with the characters they've built.
