I'm currently running Dungeon of the Mad Mage for a group and I've run into a little conundrum that I'm not quite skilled enough in to fix. My party has reached floor seven, which involves a trip to Maddgoth's miniature floating castle. Normally the shrinking issue wouldn't be a big deal, but one of my players, the Druid, can assume the form of a Flying Snake, and has done so to scout out what strange building is floating out in the middle of the abyss on this floor. Since a Flying Snake is a Tiny creature, it is unaffected by the castle's shrinking magic, so I described it in relation to the relative size of the Druid's form.
Now, my real issue, is that the castle and the monsters found inside are constructed in a way to challenge a group of shrunken characters. Most of the "tiny" sized monster that live there have altered stats to encompass their new size in relation to the party. In theory, I need to do the same sort of math and have an "altered stat" form for the Flying Snake that my Druid player can turn into. The problem is that I'm not great at scaling up monsters and need some help.
For those that have the adventure, the difference in size change causes a normal Faerie Dragon (Older) stat block to become the Otto stat block. What would a size boost like this look like for a Flying Snake?
It looks like the only changes are to STR, HP, and melee attack damage. So for flying snake, I'd go with 19-20 STR, 44 (8d10) HP, and 2d6+STR bite damage (hit and poison stay the same).
