I'm working on a solo campaign with one PC and multiple NPCs and at a current point. I have it planned to where he will be given a quest by a secret crime lord to hunt down and kill/defeat three people who had betrayed them. I had planned to use this to let the player experience fighting a wide range of creatures and encounter types.
I already have one figured out, Bandits opperating out of a makshift fort lead by one former member who thinks himsefl a future Bandit King. Have a map worked out for it and everything.
What I don't have is something fulfilling with the remaining two. THey need something to do with two locations. A reveine turned mine by a dwarven mining company and a deep old growth forest that is the home of a Elvish Ruin, occuped by elves to this day.
Currently, the party of A Cleric, Rogue, Bard, and Ranger. With a Monk and Barbarian set to join later on. All level 5 (and will remain as such until these quests are completed, Milestone afterall) and him playing an intentionally broken Homebrew Class at level 3 (to be 5 at the end.)
So far he has mostly faced off against Beasts and I'm about to hit him with Bandit-type Humanoids in one encounter. But I was hoping to get some ideas of what to do with the other two.
Maybe for the Reveine.. Uncovering some Old God Shrine or Devil Alter and the target is trying to restart worship of them through sacrifing miners? Could get some Demonic combat through that one.
For the Forest.. Perhaps they had taken some item of importaince and ran into the forest but where enthralled by a Dryad. But the item had some corrupting effect. I would have to probaby homebrew up some evil dryad but then we'd get to play around with plant monsters.
Any other suggestions or ideas?
