these are just three of the figs i have sculpted and printed, THe Flesh Golem from WHite Plume Mountain (on a 1" base) and two drakes from Hoard of the Dragon Queen (both on 2" bases , i upped their stats as the players weren't starting at 1st for this adventure). All were printed on a DLP UV curing resin printer at home, cleaned , finished, primed and painted in less time than it took for an order to arrive from miniature market (not knocking them at all but unless you pay through the nose it takes over a week to get to me)

Thanks. I like to think that I do a really decent tabletop quality. Not gonna win any awards, but I paint fairly quick and they look pretty decent from 3-4' away. Really that's how you see minis for most of the time anyhow.

I use felt pads because they're lightweight, self-adhesive and very easy to transport, but people used also wooden circles or transparent dome circles.
Mantic stuff is pretty great. I was disappointed in some of their earlier dwarves. Didn't fit together well and the sculpts are weird.
The undead, orcs and goblins are pretty cool though.
You can get decent deals on ebay on the armies sometimes.
For some SUPER cheap dwarf and orc minis check out em4. The plastic orcs and dwarves are from Grenadier war game molds, have 1 inch square bases and require a lot of mold line cleaning. You can't beat the price. Scale is smaller than most D&D stuff but still fits in OK. An excellent way to get a bunch of cheap miniatures to practice painting on.
Quote from TheGoodKingAzalin>>I saw Wizkids goblins at my local game store today. Unpainted and pre-primed, I think the goblins come 3 in a pack (might be wrong so don't quote me on that), for $4.00 so there's an option as well if you have a gaming store nearby.
I have the WizKids Gobins in my desk as I type. They are part of the $4.99 series and they're great. Three goblins in the package for 5 bucks, one with a bow, one with an Ax and one with a sword so you can easily tell them apart not the table.
I generally hit up miniaturemarket.com and trollandtoad.com for my low cost pre-painted miniature needs.
"Not all those who wander are lost"
Yea, miniaturemarket.com and trollandtoad.com are good options but shipping outside the US is usually very slow and/or very expensive

If you're curious about the quality on heroforge, here's the two I got done up as my HE Bard.

Hi! I needed Tokens and Monster Tents, so I created a free web tool to generate them.
You can find it here --> https://paper-tokens.firebaseapp.com/
You can create tokens directly from URLs or uploading images from Dropbox.

Enjoy!
This is rad!
Thanks!
I've added the self-standing paper pawns! There could be a couple of bugs, so keep an eye to the updates! Enjoy :)
By the way, has anyone done the ArcKnight Flat Plastic Minis? I dig those.

I swear this isn't an advertisement. I really actually like them.
If you want an army of 50-100 goblins for about £1 each, check out http://www.manticgames.com/mantic-shop/kings-of-war/goblins.html. I've never bought from them but they seem pretty good for simple enemies and I know Matt Colville recommended them.

This is another source for creating your own pogs. Old MTG cards abound and are cheap.
making monster tokens from MTG cards
If you want to go super cheap just take a goblin image, resize it to be one inch by one inch and print out a sheet of them.

Don't purchase from the website though, shipping is really expensive.
Heroforge is good for making miniatures but it can be pretty expensive. Maybe not 20 dollars but you can see.
