Cix woke up in an abandoned structure with no clothes, no memories, and an old spellbook. So, of course, they made it their mission to figure out who the heck they are. The first thing they learned about themself was they're a shapechanger. When they got to a town and started observing townsfolk, their body shifted—taking their current, incredibly average human form. Probably best to not do that around most people. They met a group of adventurers, and off they went.
After a couple adventures, in which the party encountered and captureddoppelgangers in service to Lolth, a druid joined the party. After explaining what they were up against, the druid mentioned she could use Moonbeam to reveal a shapechanger's true form. Cix asked her to use it on them, which she would once they got to town (and could safely imprison their latest doppelganger problem). There was also a problem of these two identical female Drow wizards running around, releasing the doppelgangers the party captured.
Back in town, the friendly NPC Wizard had created a stone which could detect a creature's race as well as a unique color to identify the person themself. The ranger was red, the rogue purple, the paladin blue, the druid green. Cix's "race" was human...ish, but shifting and incomplete. The color was orangey-brown, except for a dark spot. A "haunting", or so the wizard guessed.
The next morning, Cix got Moonbeamed, and their true form turned out to be one they had seen before, worn by the doppelgangers they captured and the women releasing them: a female Drow wizard.
Ironically, Cix is the one doing the haunting. This technically was never their body in the first place.
The rest of the party doesn't know it, but Cix (and the two women) are all clones that accidentally gained their own souls when the original wizard's premature death landed her soul in an immature—but just barely viable—clone, Cix. Cix is a shapechanger because the clone spell didn't have the information needed to complete the wizard's form and is still trying to figure it out. All I know about the old wizard is she's evil and at least a level 15 Necromancer. Cix is Sealed Evil in a Can and we're all screwed.
My attempt at designing a warlock for an evil campaign. So far I have only designed his clothing. I am considering giving him som tattoos and also I need to draw his wings as well (fallen aasimar). I also need to design his familiar lol
For starters, cool character and map. If I ever DM a campaign from scratch, I will be tempted as hell to sprinkle in "real" city names or regions into a fantasy world.
"So, you need to leave Ka'ba'kagh, travel through the Greyrym Forest, past Manhattan, and then through the foothills until you reach the Valley of the Ten Peaks, and the town of Banff.
I did do the same! A lot of the names in the map are derived from my dialect and places close to my hometown. Also, Karak Mana was named after my aunt who just passed away from cancer a few weeks ago.
Here is the map without any names so you can sprinkle in your own city names.
I was told to share this here with a link to my twitter by a friend! https://twitter.com/ClockworkRhaps1 This is Odaniana Vosany! A rock gnome who was blasted with the power of elemental earth and became a genasi! She is a divination wizard whos spellcasting focus is a set of 8 lithomancy gems, each relating to a school of magic. Her quirk is that she is always approximately correct in her divinations! "I predict rocks will fall on us!" She says with absolute confidence. Somewhat worried about the implications they tread carefully, only to find that as they open a dusty old tomb door, they are showered by dozens of tiny, harmless pebbles.
"There will be five goblins!" There were 4. a good day!
This is my current character, Eleni. She's a protector aasimar/graviturgy wizard who will probably get herself killed any session now. It's really only a matter of time. (Yes, an older painting of her IS my forum avatar!)
My Half-Elf College of Swords Bard.
May I ask why his sword is glowing?
Sure. It's a Frostbrand, was trying to give an effect to indicate that.
Ok thanks, I really think that your art is awesome!
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Another pic of Vandal Morn, my Hexblade
Bit of a story to explain the gif:
