I typically prefer 3.5, but will play any. I have a new player that wants to play (her words) a Blind Cat... So my first thought was just a Druid, but the blind aspect adds a little more to it. Was also thinking of a fake class for a cat / rogue warrior?
Would like to be able to wield daggers (without thumbs? Not sure). Anyway, I’m open to suggestions, and I want her first adventure to be memorable. Any ideas for a character build would be appreciated.
Was hoping to start the campaign between lvl 5-10, but if my other players make ridiculous builds, it’s subject to change. Thanks for the help!
Look into the Tabaxi race listed in Volo's Guide to Everything, they're literally Cat creatures. As far as the blind part goes that might take some tweaking as you play just so you get a feel for how they interact with the realm, especially being new to the game. Playing something in tune with nature isn't a bad way to go since you can kind of help divert that sensory deficit through other means if you need to. Druid, Monk, Cleric, possibly Rogue all stand out as far as classes to me.
In general I find new players are best off starting at level 1. Level 1 has a lot fewer features and abilities and rules and everything to get lost in, especially for some classes like Druid, whose only perk at level 1 literally is just spellcasting.
But yeah. Tabaxi are anthropomorphic cats. It's a race in Volo's. Druid that can turn into a cat is also cool.
Again, Tabaxi is going to be the way you want to go with this. For the blindness, look at the tremorsense feature that you see on some creatures. I would only give this out to a certain amount. Probably 30 feet, 45 feet max. It would also work in building a character flaw. I could see the player feeling a loss of control when they aren't on the ground because they become fully blind.
Use blindsight instead, it means they rely on smell and hearing to 'see', which cats do.

Honestly I was looking for ideas, and just created an account for here. It’s my first post. I’m open to any suggestions.
