There are a couple of aspects of Asmodeus, the humanoid form he manifests in front of people, which could potentially be fought and “killed” although it would return instantly if he desires.
You then have the giant worm form which is his actual form, first of all the party would need to find it (no being knows where it is, but it is buried below the 9 hells somewhere). Then they would need to get to it, and finally fight something that is gigantic, a terrasque would be dwarfed by it. And essentially can’t be killed.
Asmodeus is super-powerd but demogorgon is only CR 26 so how powerful could asmodeus be? I mean sure he's basically a god, but even gods can be destroyed (e.g the gblinoid pantheon) so it's not like he s completely invincible, though I think the players would need some artifact to defeat him.

When you thought you knew about spellcasting - you played a warlock
Why are most bard colleges a pain to type? I mean bard college of valor, compare to champion or evoker. Same goes for sacred oaths: paladin oath of devotion. That's even worse.
I don't think WoCE were very creative with the rogue and ranger subclass titles. I mean ranger archeotype? Roguish archeotype? Bro! Fighters are better but still is somewhat unsatisfying compare to a monastatic tradition or sacred oath.
Asmodeus in lore is far more powerful then demogorgon, but also the stats for demogorgon where originally stated in out of the abyss, in that campaign the demon princes are forcing there way into the material plane and so I always took those stats to be weakened versions of the demons, you are not killing them rather banishing them back to the abyss. If you fought demogorgon in his own realm he would be far more powerful.
Asmodeus is hundreds of miles long, just think about that that his true form is as long as some continents in D&D. Given his size compared to a terrasque or a demon prince you are looking at 100,000 hit points plus at least.
Now his avatar yes that might well have a different number of hit points, but remember he can manifest 10 of them so as you kill one another will appear and they will still be extremely powerful and ion 24 hours they come back again, the avatar is not the being and, as mentioned, no one knows where the true Asmodeus is, the moment someone does they die within 24 hours.
Cut and pasted from the Forgotten Realms Wiki, which I think is 3.5e. Bear in mind that this is all referring to one of his ten avatars, and that fighting him in any true sense is impossible. Asmodeus is a Greater Deity, and older than the concept of faith. But the below might be fun to play around with.
Everyone within 120 feet (37 meters) of Asmodeus's avatar was under the effect of an awe effect that made it impossible for people to attack him when they were not attacked first by the avatar.
His protective abilities were impressive. It was impossible to harm him with spells below a certain level of complexity, as well as poison, paralysis, petrification, magic dealing with death, illusions, and attempts to influence his mind. Physically, it was impossible to hurt him with even enchanted weapons that were not at least +4. However, even when hurt by such a weapon, if the weapon was not holy or otherwise blessed, the wounds immediately healed.
He mostly fought, which happened rarely, by using the powers of the Ruby Rod instead of his own. He had magical abilities that allowed him to slow people while decreasing their physical combat capability or to instill fear while sapping physical strength by merely looking at somebody. His voice carried an irresistible suggestion that made people subservient to him for ten to a hundred days. He had a preference for using these abilities to make people flee from him or turn subservient rather than outright killing them. In case these abilities did not work, Asmodeus had a strong tendency to retreat and let his minions deal with his enemies. He could summon a pit fiend or two specimens of any kind of devil every hour.

I do love the sense of hope at the end, in the event all that stuff before now doesn’t work he would retreat. I would love to see the look on his face if all that stuff didn’t work lol.
Okay so, with consideration of that, let me rephrase that, how do I homebrew Asmodeus to be more of a Vecna figure (From Critical role Vecna) (Meaning not a greater diety, and not impossible to defeat?)

If you're going to crowdsource, why not just grab what's already on hand?
Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.
Statting such a god-like creature seems unnecessary, since the PCs wouldn't be able to defeat it.
