I'm going to run the Lost Mines of Phandelver campaign, and was thinking about upgrading my subscription to use the interactive maps but I can't tell if Lost Mines is available or not. Can anyone confirm if it's there before I upgrade?
I would bet on that being a no on the original LMoP adventure, maps are a new feature that is still work in progress, so best advice is wait till they say maps has it?
i see from the Maps landing page itself that there's three free campaigns listed and the free phandelver isn't one of them.
looking at the changelog, the new phandelver (with 'strange' goblins and extra levels) is definitely in Maps. and the first few chapters are essentially the same so maybe? if access isn't gated by some extra cost?
signs aren't great for an easy solution, but i don't have a master subscription to verify for you.
...but, having said that, it's my understanding that there's nothing stopping you from uploading the free phandelver maps into the Maps app and poof there you go.
I just checked, I have a master tier subscription, and the original LMoP is not available, but Phandelver and Below, the updated and expanded one is. Since the first few chapters of Phandelver and Below IS LmOP, just with a few changes, I would comfortably assume the maps, especially the player version maps that have no labels or notes, would be almost the same as the originals, or close enough not to make a difference.
Edited to add:
I just took a quick look at a couple of the maps, the red brand hideout and thundertree ruins, and they look exactly the same as the originals in LMoP as far as I can remember, so you are probably fine using those for your LMoP campaign

I have both and have been recently running LMoP for a group so I did look...there are some differences between the two versions. In Phandelver and Below, the encounters are often very different. Some are for the better some for the worse - your milage may vary.
Phandelver and Below also has maps that didn't exist in LMoP - the initial ambush, the Old Owl Well, Wyvern Tor, and such like.
It is possible however to just right click, save as the map images here on DDB and upload them into the maps tool. Though if you've got to do that I'd move to a free alternative like Owlbear...but then I was using that long before maps came out so I am biased toward the solution developed by two people over the alpha version of maps.

I know the specifics of the encounters are different, I am speaking specifically of the maps and the maps that appear in both LMoP and Phandelver and Below are identical. I just ran through and did a side by side comparison of all the maps from LMoP with their counter parts in Phandelver and Below and other than a slight change in the hue of the borders, they are identical. So if someone wanted to run LMoP only, they could still use the preloaded maps from Phandelver and Below in the maps tool just fine.
There are some cosmetic differences - some of the original printings have the scale as 1 square = 10ft, the reprint has standardised it to 1 square = 5ft. There are no other real differences, but you still need to own Phandelver and Below to access it on Beyond's Maps tool.
I'm currently running this myself. The maps are not included, but in the adventure you can download the maps and upload them easily. Built out a few maps for farther along encounters, but easily manageable.
Does anyone know the dimensions for the digital maps given in the LMoP first version? trying to fit them in Owlbear Rodeo
They squares aren't actually square so they aren't 100% accurate to a grid. That's the reason that I went and designed my own in Inkarnate so that they would fit in owlbear. I do have the full list if you want it, but I couldn't get them fitting with DPI or Columns options. You have to basically import them, unlink the width/height relationship and then alter the dimensions until they fit. It's kind of annoying.
In the official maps, the best fit grid size I could find was:
Cragmaw Hideout - 30x21 Redbrand Hideout - 30x21 Thundertree - 30x21 Cragmaw Castle - Really doesn't fit a standard grid due to the odd way the border works. Closest I could figure was 30.5x22 Wave Echo Cave - 74x98 in a 5ft grid, or 37x49 in a 10ft grid.
The borders and the fact that the grids aren't techically square is a pain though. You could crop the images to inside the decorative border, but still doesn't get you a perfect grid on the official maps. It was SOOOO annoying! But they were made before VTTs got so popular in fairness.

unhappy at the way in which we lost individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
tell them you don't like features disappeared quietly in the night: provide feedback!
