I don't think the discussion about alignment will really affect any of the disputes about alignment. Alignment arguments generally fall into three bins
I find alignment a useful shorthand/useless busywork (not affected).
What alignment is behaviors X, Y, and Z (that's already treating alignment as descriptive rather than prescriptive)
If a monster is described as alignment X, what would it do in situation Y (this is not actually treating alignment as prescriptive. It's just saying "what does it mean that a creature is described as being alignment X?")
