I figured that I’d try to write it “open source” so to speak so that I could get as much input as possible from the GMs out there.
The premise is simple. In the Batman: TAS episode “The Man Who Killed Batman,” a nebbish crook seems to kill Batman and, as a result, gains the unwelcome attention of the Joker. Using the idea, the player party, a bunch of first level characters, seem to kill an ancient gold dragon (yes, this will require DM intervention). The event happens where everyone can see it. The adventure path asks, “what are the consequences of that?”
I'd potentially allow changing it from Gold to Red dragon - metallic are generally Good aligned, and having an adventure Tier 4 celestial police force attack the 1st level party will result in a red puddle.

I know what you're thinking: "In that flurry of blows, did he use all his ki points, or save one?" Well, are ya feeling lucky, punk?

The fact that it is Gold is part of the story. The party has to deal with an order of militant Paladins whom have mistaken the party for an evil adventuring party that was previously believed to be dead.
Note that the party of PCs never intended to kill the Gold dragon. The fact that they did is as much a shock to them as anyone else. Also note that the evil party they are mistaken for, it is known that, for some reason, spells like Zone of Truth don’t work on them.
