In our case for now we're following the downtime activity rules from XGtE since we're still using the 2014 rules. But I think when we switch to the 2024 books, we'll use Bastions and crafting item rules from those, keeping XGtE for activities the new rules don't cover yet.
For example, Carousing, Crime or Gambling can be sources of inspiration for adventures in cities or villages.

I'm curious as to whether anyone has implemented both systems into their games and, if so, did you find any pain points or difficulties?
