I was hoping someone with a little more experience with DMing could help me. I'm trying to make up a puzzle for my players involving a maze. My idea was to put the players each in their own part of the maze and search for a key to a door they need to get through. But also in the maze are these living statues that are too strong for them to fight on their own, so they have to be a little more stealthy and listen for them moving.
Some of the ideas I saw was getting a dry-erase board and keeping a full map of the maze on my end, and letting the players draw where they're going on the board. But I'd like to hear what other people can think of.
One of my plans for my maze is to make a large map of a maze, and then cut out piece by piece the sections of the maze according to what you'd be able to see. I'd do one for each player and then have them "build" their map as they go according to what they have personally seen while only I have the complete one. You could do something similar with "tiles", and if it is still too easy, then every so often the map can "shift" and they have to start over while you can have 5 or 6 map variations to build from.
Not sure if this helps, and it's a lot of work, but I had a feeling it may be worth it!
Good Luck!

Thanks a lot!
