I’m about to start a new homebrew campaign that will be in a steampunk setting. The players are part of a ministry that investigates magic science and inter dimensional entities. The main campaign arc is hopefully going to involve a high powered captain of industry (think Brunel) who is corrupted by a great old one. Queue lovecraft style shenanigans. I’ve had an idea that there is another corporation that essentially is an electricity company that will be run by a blue dragon in human form. Since they are lawful and value achievements I thought that would work nicely. I’m looking for ideas for subplots or hooks to incorporate this aspect into the game. Some vague ideas I’ve had will be the conflict between steam power and electrical power. But I’m still at an early planning stages. Have any of you had any luck with this type of thing? Are there any pitfalls I should avoid?
