I'm trying to make this npc for one of my players past. The player was a royal who used to play with this npc tiefling as a child but her parents imprisoned the npc so he would stay away from the player (Or something, still working on a reason) After which the Npc held mixed feelings about the player. years passed and the npc grew up in prison. He ended up getting schizophrenia and has a sort of hate for the royals. Now I plan for him to encounter the player, maybe she pardons him, but the eventulty is that he goes after the player or the royal family. He won't kill anyone, the worse is he knocks them unconscious, but I need advice for something more. I want a sort of batman telltale joker feel. Any tips?
Tieflings would be prime targets for racism, so parents wanting their child to stay away makes sense. "Imagine the rumors if our child was seen getting along with one of them," kind of thing.
I don't think schizophrenia is a good idea (it probably isnt even the right diagnosis for what you are thinking). Antisocial personality disorder or sociopathy might be better choices.
Okay so what I want is a character who is social awarded but always tries his best to be friendly. Being imprisoned for so long he had this sort of darkness inside him, violent urges created by the years of anger and hate he felt. Not all hope is lost, he is sort of like clay. Full of potential, whether that is good or not depends on how he is treated. eventual he willl become something. Now how i make him more involved in the story is my question?
So basically just a deep seeded resentment. Sounds like he would be a prime target to be recruited into an anti-nobility, anarchist, or rebellion faction. And he could be travelling around as part of his missions for them.

Nice, I guess it would be possible or there to be faction against the nobles. Anyone else have any ideas?
