My group is currently at the end of LmoP and I spiced the story of the Black Spider up a little, because it was boring. Nezznara (female in my campaign) is being hunted by a Shadow Creature, sent by her mother, to kill her. It's almost impossible to defeat (inspired by Doctor Who's Vashta Nerada) and she fled into the Wave Echo Cave where she heard a Wish Stone (1 time use of wish) was hidden + the magic of the cave prevented the Vashta Nerada to enter.
My players bargained with her that if they help her defeat the shadow, she'd give them the wish stone. They're going to battle it this weekend and if they survive they will have a wish stone. This will be interesting, because our warlock promised his pact entity to give it the stone.
My wife, the group's rogue, leaked that she intends to first wish that she can make a wish every day and then, the next day, wish for everyone in the group to get their own wish stone. Now that, to me, is cheating the powers of the wish (you cannot create more out of nothing!). So I'm thinking of ways to grant the wish in a mean way (not too mean...?) My ideas so far:
I want to be able to use a wish every day
The rogue gets stuck in a time loop, waking up the day they entered wave echo cave and has to fight through it again to get to the wish stone. If she goes to bed or uses the wish stone, the loop starts from the beginning.
I want everyone in the group to have their own wish stone
The stone shatters, because it is just not possible (maybe she looses the ability to use wish ever again)
The stone splits its "charge" with all other stones so each of them can only grant tiny wishes (like 100gp, up to 2nd level spell copy, etc.)
The stone implodes and creates a vortex to another dimension, either sucking the rogue in or leaking a monster (creating a rupture in time-space)
The stones are created but nobody knows where (they're scattered all over the world)
What do you think? Any other ideas or suggestions? What have your "wish for more wishes"-interpretations played out?
That last one has potential, but a bit boring. Let them know where the new stones are, but have them be in impossible locations; Beneath Asmodeus' fortress. in Nessus. Walled into the Brass City on the Elemental Plane of Fire. The belly of an ancient blue dragon, or. even at the end of the Tomb of Horrors.

I don't know, Sneet, maybe because your argument is "Submit and become our pet"?

I like that. So later on, when something dramatically happens and they get desperate, they might want to get one of the wish stones then!
The PC who makes the wish to wish every day could have 'visions' or 'dreams' of themselves reliving that moment, essentially just falling back into that 4th/5th dimensional moment of them making that wish once a day. Technically they're making a wish, and they're doing it every day.
Or a random mundane item called a 'Wish' by some random race like goblins or something appears before them, and they now have the ability to use this 'wish' whenever they wish to. Could be a broom or a cup or a tool of some sort.

They are granted a chicken named "Wish" and they use her every day by eating the eggs she makes.

Hi guys!

The stone copies itself for each person. Everybody now has a wish stone with no charges left.
