Hey gang, I'm trying to figure out how to integrate strongholds rules (including homebrew content) to allow players to adventure on behalf of a small town crumbling into ruin, to help rebuild it. Any thoughts on rules geared to a smaller scale, like raising a barn or helping repair a tavern, rather than building an entire fortified keep? Or, thoughts on buildings from a different perspective, like gnomes or elves or dwarves? Small magics and mixed race towns that use non-human-centric ways of building?
I've bought Walrock's content but I'm curious about expanding on that.
There is a pathfinder module called Kingmaker that might give you some thoughts on foundation rules based off that. The Module isn't small scale but it outlines how you can look at managing a settlement - for you're purposes you just shrink the scale.
Some food for thought is developing something like 'build points' within a time period. Like you have a base stat and as PCs do adventures you get extra build points. Then a building costs X points.
