So I'm making some important wizard NPCs for my party. I know they're going to meet one wizard as an owner of a magic item shop, and the other would be for (basically) identifying items. What I want your opinion on is what Wizard subclass should they be? Also, should I combine them?
Personally I start with use something like this: https://donjon.bin.sh/5e/random/#type=npc;npc-order=arcane then just keep a little note about what abilities, powers or spells they have used, give them 5hp in case a fight breaks out.
If you want the mage emporium owner to be the one creating all the magic items then I found it quicker to make a character than find a stat block and tweak it, if you use d&db then you can always just head into the character creator hit the random option, add any specific things you wanted and use it.
