Bonus -> Magic will increase the attack and damage rolls for the weapon you're creating, but has no bearing on a character's spell attack rolls or save DCs.
If you're looking to increase spell attack rolls, you'll want to select "Bonus" as the Modifier Type and either "Melee Spell Attacks", "Ranged Spell Attacks", or "Spell Attacks" (for both ranged and melee) for the "Modifier Subtype". If you want to increase the spell save DC, you'll select "Bonus" as the Modifier Type and "Spell Save DC" as the "Modifier Subtype".
There's a pinned post with some tutorials for making homebrew and others with explanations for all of the minutia if you're just starting out.
I tried that but the spell's Hit/DC is still blank or says a dash without a number my oringinal question was is their a way to add a hit/dc to a spell?
Can you provide more details on exactly what you're looking to do? What type of homebrew are you creating (e.g., magic item, subclass, feat)? Are you looking to set a fixed spell save DC or increase all spell attacks and spell save DCs for a character? Is this for a class that has spellcasting?
Unfortunately, a lot of these things have very different answers.
The type of homebrew i'm creating is a projectile spell similar to magic missile and firebolt, I am looking for a way to change the Hit modifier because when I created the spell from scratch it would just use a dash for the Hit/Dc and I would like to make it a +3 modifier for the spell and yes this spell is for the wizard of my party. If you look in the spell menu you will see the spell name then range , then the hit/dc modifier which is what im trying to add to my spell
I must apologize if I am not being specific enough to help but i am new to using dnd beyond and the homebrew system if you need me to provide more information i can attempt to
No problem at all - I think I'm getting a clearer picture.
There's a section called "Additional Information" that you'll want to expand when creating a spell. If you select Melee or Ranged from the "Attack Type" dropdown, that will tell it to use your spell attack value (based on the spellcasting modifier of the class), while selecting a saving throw value from the "Save Type" dropdown will use your spell save DC. This should make it so that you don't just see a dash for your "Hit/DC".
If you're looking to further increase that number by 3, I don't think you can do that when creating the spell. I tried messing around with the usual ways (Bonus - Magic, Bonus - Spell Attacks, Bonus - Spell Save DC) and they don't appear to affect this. Usually, if you want a fixed save DC or bonus to the save or attack, that would be set in an item or ability that uses the spell. You have additional options for how to calculate or specify those values when creating items and subclasses.
Maybe I'm missing something... but how the heck do I increase a homebrew weapon's "To Hit" value? Is there a modifier I'm missing?
I suspect it's done selecting "Bonus" and then "Melee Attack" (or the ranged equivalent) but I haven't tested it, tbh.

If anyone in the future comes across this thread via a Google search like I did, I have found the solution.
When adding a modifier to your homebrew weapons for a bonus to its "To Hit" value, you'll want to select:
Just like other magical items that have +1, +2, or higher ratings, this will affect the weapon's Hit and Damage bonus.
Thank you! I used a shortbow +3 and modified it but couldn't get my homebrew bow to reflect the Hit/DC: +10 that I needed. Your advice did the trick!
Does anyone know for spells? or is it still bonus then magic
