Hi all. I'm currently creating a homebrew weapon (dagger to be specific), and I'm wondering if there is a way to change the base weapon damage. So instead of it dealing 1d4 + dexterity modifier, would it be possible to instead have it deal just a raw 3d4 fire damage instead? I have already figured out how to switch the weapon damage to fire, I just can't seem to figure out how to change the base damage values. Any help would be appreciated.
It's great that you've already found the "Replace Damage Type" modifier, but unfortunately, we currently can't change the base die type or number of dice.
The possible workarounds are:
Add a modifier to the dagger "Damage - Fire - 2 d4" to account for the extra 2d4 fire damage. Unfortunately, this additional damage just shows up in the Notes section of the weapon, and the current DDB dice roller doesn't give the option to roll it. Even official magic items that add dice for extra damages are subject to this same limitation.
Pick a different base weapon of the right type (melee vs ranged) that has the right die type, and if you're lucky, number of dice (there are some 2d4 weapons but not 3d4.) Then add modifiers to Ignore or add Weapon Properties as applicable, like removing Heavy, adding Light, Finesse, etc. Note that currently, adding the Thrown property results in Range (5/5) for homebrew.
If all else fails, you can make a Custom Action with the right damage modifier and die type & count.

I didn't even think about changing the weapon type, that's a solid idea. Cheers for the help.
