So, I'm in the process of porting over MFOV's excellent Shinobi subclass to Dndbeyond, and I've hit a weird snag. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to give a non monk the ability to use Dexterity for unarmed strikes. Does anyone know how to make this work?
As a feature, set it up so they use Dex instead of Str, and just make it sit there. The normal system for this falls under grappling rules, and a punch is basically 1 point plus Str modifier, so just make it Dex instead.

Hmmm . . . Why not create an new Unarmed Strike as an Action in features called Unarmed Strike (DEX) which uses your Dex modifier instead of strength, Check the proficiency box. Choose Weapon and set it to melee, then set it to unarmed strike, adjust the damage die to 1d4 and if it scales just enable higher level scaling. Otherwise
Create a modifier and set > unarmed strike > stats > DEX > DIE > 1d4. Though for me I personally wouldn't change the strength unarmed strike and just leave it be.

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to do. I can't find a mechanic in the system to make that happen. Hence my question.

That is a brilliant solution, thank you!
