Hey all
As the title suggests, I tried to put together a monk subclass/class rework that essentially allows you to play with the abilities that deku has from my hero academia. It sort of functions as a monk/wizard hybrid with many of the monk class abilities for his hand to hand combat alongside access to a decent amount of leveled spells for his other quirks and more unique abilities. The spells are grouped specifically by their corresponding quirk and you can unlock a new quirk category every 3 levels or so in any order you choose.
This is my first time making a homebrew subclass or something of the sort so I'd genuinely love any feedback. The vast majority of the subclass/class abilities is taken straight from the player's handbook and other official content or baldur's gate mechanics - all of which are directly linked to in the excel doc. Though there are also a few homebrew abilities thrown in there. I do have a tendency to make things a little overpowered when I am excited about them, so directions on toning specific parts of the subclass/class down are certainly welcome - specifically around the homebrew abilities or just the amount of features that are included in the class/subclass. Another potential area for suggestions is the level 13+ content - I have a decent amount of dnd experience with low to mid level play, but not so much with high level play so I truly don't have much to base things off for balance there.
Either way, take a look at the below excel doc if you're interested. There are 2 pages - the first outlines what features you receive at each level and the second page lays out the specific spells you learn and what quirk category they are in plus descriptions of several homebrew abilities. Basically every word in the doc is linked to another page with the details of what that ability does. As most of the abilities are pre-existing, the majority of links are to dndbeyond, the dnd5e wiki, and the baldur's gate wiki highlighting exactly the referenced ability. For the homebrew material, the links go to a different part of the excel doc that explains the referenced ability. Alternatively, you can check out the dndbeyond subclass creator link - I finally figured out how to get that to work.
Deku Monk Subclass Doc (must view on desktop - links to homebrew abilities don't work on mobile)
The Excel doc is pretty confusing to follow, so I'm not exactly sure what your abilities do precisely. I'll just say that generally you need to be careful when making an anime protagonist style class/subclass, because they tend towards power creep shenanigans and being too strong.
That's sort of the whole point of Midoriya, is that he's the strongest and can do just about everything by himself. It could be fun, but it could step on other class toes quite a bit. I'm not sure how it shakes out since it's hard to read.

I know what you're thinking: "In that flurry of blows, did he use all his ki points, or save one?" Well, are ya feeling lucky, punk?
Yaaaaaa, that power creep is my biggest concern with the subclass. I tried to keep balance by removing a decent amount of the monk class features; but even still, the subclass has a lotttt of abilities and some of those homebrew ones definitely could be op. I was thinking a scaled down version could remove the monk ability Diamond Soul as well as the homebrew abilities Self Smokescreen, Improved Self Smokescreen, and Perfect Full Cowl while also dialing down the numbers on all the Parallel Processing abilities.
And if you're using mobile to view the doc, I'd definitely recommend desktop - I can't imagine what that thing looks like on a phone screen. If you click the link attached to any of the spells, features, etc., you should be linked to somewhere else that explains what each ability does.
EDIT - Ah ya, just tested, the homebrew ability links only work on desktop - they don't load correctly on mobile.
At this point you might want to consider detaching it from the Monk chassis and just making it a full homebrew class if you plan to remove so much. I'm on mobile at the moment so I'll just leave my advice at that until later.

I was literally thinking today about making a subclass and just thought I'd see if anyone else had and it's cool to see you had the same idea that it should be a monk subclass.
