Collective of the Elder Brain, I could do with some assistance.
I'm playing (and helping a friend run) a relatively new D&D campaign. One of the other players came forward and asked to play a blood mage as their character, which the DM okayed (we're pretty lenient with homebrew). After looking through it together, we saw some flaws and missing bits in the class and I put together a quick updated version of the class. I still feel a little dissatisfied with it, though the player is content as if the DM.
Just wondering if there's any input people could give on the class. It seems really focused on combat abilities and doesn't seem to have great survivability at low level based on the main mechanic of the Blood Bolt "spell". I'm trying to think of ways to update it so that it has a bit more to do than bleed over people and look like a genetic freak.
