So awhile back I needed to think of a magical item to give to my players. I wasn't sure what to give them since I hadn't thought about it and i didn't have a DMG in front of me to find a chart to roll off of. So I had them roll on the trinket chart in the PHB and then I had time to think about how I would make these things magical. Now this is what I came up with these are thier first items
The Thief rolled and got a small box with a 2 headed worm inside it, I changed that so that its a snake with a head on both ends and once he has unlocked the box (gets attuned to it) the box will open and the snake heads will attack him and tattoo him with their image wrapped around his arms and across his shoulders. From then on he will be able to cast the poison spray cantrip 1d4 times a day.
The Coastal Druid rolled and got 2 six sided dice that have skulls on the 6s, for this I decided to give them the same ability that the Bag of Tricks, his character will roll the bone dice and the bones will combine and transform into a skeletal version of a creature from a table with 12 creatures on it he can roll these dice then dismiss them 3 times befor he has to wait for the next dawn to do this again.
Then the Paladin of Deep Sashlas, he rolled and got a gem that looks like a lump of coal to everyone else. Now im planning to make this into a water elemental gem.
What are some cool items you have made or adapted over time?
I recently saw the "fan that, when unfolded, shows a sleeping cat" on the trinket table (74) and thought of a magical fan that would work as a hat of disguise when you covered and then uncovered your face with it.

For the coastal druid, I guess it fits an awesome sheashell as trinket.
I just made them roll on the normal trinket table and just worked off of that. i thought it was kinda cool too cuz it kinda matches the pirate theme

These don't seem very useless to me, I would love any one of those!
I know what you're thinking: "In that flurry of blows, did he use all his ki points, or save one?" Well, are ya feeling lucky, punk?
