My wife had an idea to turn a mini-game from the original Mario Party into an event for my magical arena campaign. The mini-game in question is this one https://www.mariowiki.com/File:MushroomMix-Up.png. Essentially there are a number of Floating Platforms that are colored and each PC takes a turn moving their character onto the color they think is safe. Then you spin a color wheel irl or digitally and what ever color it lands on is safe. All PCs who guessed right are safe, all who were wrong must now make a Acrobatics check (DC5+X per round after the first) to jump to the correct one before theirs falls and they are eliminated. You can make X what ever you want for how long you want the game to last.
What are your thoughts on this Encounter and ways I could improve it?
What does "eliminated" mean? If it means death, that's extremely punitive for someting that's essentially random and low DEX characters would be at a severe risk of dying for no good story reason.
What are they falling into if they are on the wrong color? Can you design it so that it hurts the PCs without disabling them for more than a few rounds/outright killing them?

I guess I could have elaborated on that a little bit more lol. In the terms of what im using it for, they are essentially eleminated from the game I.E they cant play anymore. You can make them fall into what ever you want. For my purpose they're playing on floating tensor discs over the Ocean so if they fail they fall into the water no harm no foul. If you wanted to make it a punishment for failing you make them play over a pit that could deal fall damage or into an area filled with hostile creatures. Thats completely up to the DM. I mainly wanted advice mechanics wise if how I designed it seems alright.
I would provide some kind of clue to the PCs about what order the colors are likely to appear in some time prior to the Discs appearing, esp. if they are likely to suffer a status condition lasting more than a round or two if/when they fall off.
