I came up with a character concept of a blind monk, kinda like Zatoichi or Daredevil, and I wanted to come up with a Feat that is both balanced and gives them the same kind of capabilities and disadvantages I'm looking for. I wanted to workshop it here first, to maybe see if it's viable. Your feedback (including on the name) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advanced.
Blind Observant Feat
You are blind, but your other senses have compensated to be able to supplement your lost sight.
Increase your Wisdom score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
You permenentally have the blinded condition, except creatures attacking you don't automatically have advantage against you, nor do you automatically have disadvantage when attack, unless you are deafened.
If you are deafened, creatures automatically critically hit you, you automatically fail attack rolls, and you fail any Wisdom (Perception), Wisdom (Insight), and any other skill checks that require hearing.
You have a heightened sense of hearing. You can clearly hear everything within 120 feet of you, and can triangulate the location of anything that emits or echoes a sound within that range. You can hear most sounds within 240 feet of you, and have advantage on any Wisdom (Perception) checks that requires hearing within range. You can make out sounds within 600 feet of you if you listen for them.
You also have heightened senses of touch, smell, and taste. You have advantage on skill checks that require touch, smell, and taste. You can get a general sense of direction of where things are within 60 feet on any Wisdom (Perception) check requiring smell. If you are deafened, you are only aware of things you can touch, smell, and taste.
You have a +5 bonus to your passive Wisdom (Perception) checks when relying on hearing or smell.
You permanently have the blinded condition, except creatures attacking you don't automatically have advantage against you, nor do you automatically have disadvantage when attack, unless you are deafened.
If you are deafened, creatures automatically critically hit you, you automatically fail attack rolls, and you fail any Wisdom (Perception), Wisdom (Insight), and any other skill checks that require hearing.

You can't see and automatically fail any ability check that requires sight.

Yeah, that makes sense. It does the same thing, but isn't nearly as confusing or redundant. Thanks. I guess it doesn't seem nearly as overpowered as I was afraid it could be.
I can see that. I didn't think it was necessary, since the text of the feat generates those conditions, but including that would do more to hedge those concerns. Thanks, again.

How about replacing

Maybe make permanent blindness a prerequisite?
