So I'm making a cleric subclass and the basic premise of it is that everything comes at a price. So when the cleric heals someone it will cost the cleric a certain amount of damage depending on the spell. So for instance if the cleric uses cure wounds on an ally, then the cleric will take a 1d4 of damage themselves. My group really likes the idea of the cleric as it fits our world, but I can not figure out how to get the spells to do this.
