Here, I don't need help necessarily with a particular homebrew, or validating it through constructive criticism (yet lol) but the Dungeon Master's Guide states: If one or more features of a given class don't exactly fit the theme or tone of your campaign, you can pull them out of the class and replace them with new ones. In doing, you should strive to make sure that the new options are just as appealing as the ones you are removing, and that the substitute class features contribute to the class's effectiveness at social interaction, exploration, or combat just as well as those being replaced.
Question is, what's the overall consensus of "how well" Wild Shape contributes to social interaction, exploration, and/or combat, with AND without Circle of the Moon?
Without Circle of the Moon I don't see it being used in combat very often after the lower levels. With Circle of the Moon I use it almost exclusively in combat. Because I don't extra attacks, and because spells are not always the best option, Wildshapes that provide multi attack and do decent damage and effects are awesome.
What about social interaction and exploration, with OR without Circle of the Moon? Like, yeah, Circle of the Moon obviously ups Wild Shape, but besides how well and in what ways, what about in general, how much it contributes to social interaction and/or exploration, now that combat is spoken for?

All I know is that it doesn't let you get a flying or swimming speed sooner.

I am playing a Druid who is less about really caring to explore and more about strength of the pack. That being said I could see having access to tiny transformations being a boon when exploring caves and such.
I could also see being able to transform into inconspicuous beasts, like a house cat, allowing you to do a fair bit of recon and intelligence gathering.
As matthias brought up I do wish it gave access to flying and swimming sooner (even out the gate).

So what may one say?
Without Circle of the Moon:
Social Interaction: Negative:Low
Exploration: Positive:Medium
Combat: Positive:Low
With Circle of the Moon:
Social Interaction: Negative:Low
Exploration: Positive:High
Combat: Positive: High?
