So I had this idea for a character that is essentially a mimic/changeling through some twisted means (either some twisted god created it or through other means). You'd go off the changeling pc tree, but ur action can be spent to essentially turn into ANYTHING that is within your size/scope. Changelings can turn into humanoids and mimics can turn into objects so roughly speaking i'd allow any object that is as small as a gnome to as large as an actual minotaur/half giant/giant. W/e rules you'd use for changelings you'd rule for the size of the mimic capabilities. Now how would you try to balance this character? Or does anyone have ideas on what i could do as a whole?
Make Objects a separate ability. Count as 1/long rest for 1 minute/level. Absorbs your clothing, must be an object you have touched previously. Darkvision, all speeds = 0. No adherence. Does not have to breathe while in this form. AC becomes that of the object, HP remains the same. Advantage on Con, Wisdom, Int saves, Disadvantage on Strength, Dex, and Charisma Saves.
Gets False Appearance ability.
Cha +2, no other stat bonus
