“Yes, long rest, double watches, sleep in your armor. Gods know what’s out there. We could all use some shuteye. I’ll be on first watch, casters take last watches, rest of you whenever you can. No smoke, for all good that’ll do. Cold rations. Anyone sees water here, that’d be helpful,” he says, looking at the flying familiar.

He sets up with a decent view of the surroundings, back to whoever takes the double shift with him and he watches the tower wreckage and wonders what in the nine hells brought them here.

"Mister BeeBee, do you still have the Mistress's book?", Larry asks.

Keller’s eyebrow quirks at “book” and looks at BB…

((With double watches I don't think we get enough sleep? At least I think it should be 6h in the 8h period? Gramps was suggesting we would all get a complete night of sleep due to the other ways of keeping watch at our disposal.)) 

BB looks of from his dusty bed and starts patting his pockets for the book.

((Which I have no memory of... If it is still on his person-))

BB will hand the book up to Larry,

"Going to read me a bedtime story Lair?"

BB and Larry have a search of the Library, the metal man tasking BB with finding a book titled "On a Path to Adventure", without further elaboration. If questioned, he merely replies that the book, if it is here, will be more useful to them than anything else in his Mistress's Library. BB eventually does find it discarded in a corner, a small book, not much larger than hand sized, its leather worked binding closed with a clasp.

"Yes, that is it. We should hurry, friend BeeBee.", Larry remarks, standing with a whir of gears and sprinting down the stairs, the large warrior hard pressed to keep up, giving a last look to the charred chaos of the room.

Larry takes the book and says "On a path to adventure... you need to be prepared."

The clasp pops open, and he hands it back to BB.

"Guess you'll be the one to read us a story, eh BB?"

BB props himself up with a groan and gives Bolt a dirty look before starting to flip through it.

"Let's see what your mistress thought was adventurous there Lair. I'll be sure to read you the juicy bits Bolt."

BB flips open the book and reveals a hollow cavity within, a locked box disguised as a book. Inside is a black silk handkerchief, neatly folded.

"It says here that lizardheads should make me a stew."

BB pulls out the handerchief and, checking for something inside it first, checks it over.

"Gotta admit I do like some nice black silk."

((Larry doesn't need sleep, just 6 hours of stillness, but remains alert during them.))

BB isn't sure why the metal fellow had him go though all take effort for an admittedly nice hanky.

Looking over to Larry BB will give a shrug,

"And...? You grab the wrong book Lair? We wanted the one that would open a porthole or whatever back to someplace less dusty."

He'll give the hanky a tentative sniff before clearing his dust filled sinuses, shaking it out a bit and putting it into a pocket.

"I would suggest spreading it on the ground, friend BeeBee, though make sure there is space."

Keller perks up. "I've heard stories..." and he helps spread the handkerchief on the ground and then reaches a hand into it. Then, if safe, his head to look around.

As Keller spreads it on the ground, he discovers that there are new folds that weren't there a moment ago, and continuing to spread it further and further, until with the last fold, he is left with fabric the size of a small tablecloth, six feet across. There is a soft exhalation as the silk sinks down and vanishes, and they are left looking at a ten foot deep pit in the ground. It's a bit harder to see for those without darkvision, but there are assorted chests piled in the bottom.

"We should see what the Mistress left behind, I am somewhat concerned that the book was left when she departed. She may not have been prepared for whatever she faced. Oh... if she came through the portal previously, and we landed the tower on where that was, do you think she is under the rubble?", the metal man begins to stand up.

"What else do you know about what she was working on? Tell us everything, from the beginning," Keller says, and listens, before climbing down the side of the pit and looking at the chests. First checking for traps and then seeing if any are locked.

Larry explains to the best of his ability and understanding, what his Mistress had been working on, though a decent amount went above his understanding. It seems she had an interest in planar travel, however, so it seems possible that she could have tapped into something unexpected. He describes the following that you withdraw from the chests in the portable hole.
