"An ambush is a good idea," Kosef says, "but tree limbs break under my weight." He slides his sword under fallen leaves and grass leaving the pommel where he can grab it. Kosef lays flat in a low spot watching for the townsfolk to pass. He will pop up and begin beheading kobolds when those from the town are behind him. Initiative: 12
Kendes slinks out of the water when he notices the group breaking off for the treeline.
"Valas found the townspeople fleeing from those kobolds?"he says quietly, seeing the others nod in affirmation. Slinking as quietly as he can towards the treeline, he grasps a dart in one hand and his spear in the other, ready and waiting for the kobolds to come within twenty feet of him. Once the closest one is, he plans to be ready to throw his dart, and then charge in with the spear.
"Six of them?"he asks, as the others silently confer, and swallows. It's a rather large number to be facing before a difficult battle at the mill. But on the other hand, his conscience won't allow him to leave the townspeople to their fate. "Between the devil and the deep blue sea after all,"he groans.
"I didn't actually mean climb the..."Valas just trails off, shaking his head a tiny bit. He watches for the townsfolk, ready to encourage them to continue past the party and then wait for further instruction. He figures the party can give them instructions for getting back to the keep tunnel after the fight.

"Well how else should I get up there Valas? Oh, I see, yes of course."
When the townsfolk hopefully passes them Evendur whispers "You are safe now brave townsfolk, take cover by the reeds, we will swiftly take care of these kobolds, mighty Torm will watch over you" Persuasion to calm them down and make them heed his advice:24
When Kendes charges, Evendur follows suit (OOC:Both on initiative 15) swinging his blade at the closest kobold.
Longsword:21 Damage:10 He then bashes the closest kobold in the face with his shield:12 to knock it prone.
(OOC:Something happened with my attack rolls when I added the persuasion roll. The rolls where really good I´m afraid :-P And they change every time I edit?? Hey I just realized the rolls are still there if I move the cursor over them. Although the damage roll and the attack roll switched places. Very weird)
(It does that sometimes if you add text before the dice roll was made in your edit. This is why I actually prefer using the sheet dice roller, you don't have to mess with the red warning of doom when you go to correct a misspelling XD If you remember your original rolls, just post them, because every time you edit your post, the roll values will change when it's like that, which is pretty annoying.)
Kendes' readied dart attack: 26 Damage: 8piercing

(OOC: Well I can actually still see them moving my cursor over the number but to be clear they were: Longsword:18+5=23 Damage:3+3=6 Shield bash:19+5=24)
The commoners come running past the group. They gasp in surprise at the strangers (except for Kosef who is hidden on the ground). Fortunately, Evendur's words assure them, and they run towards the safety of the reeds.
The first kobold Evendur attacks attempts to dodge Evendur's sword, but is not quick enough. The second kobold he attacks also tries to evade, acrobatics: 11. It is also too slow, and is knocked over.
Kendes sends a dart towards a kobold. The projectile enters right through the kobold's eye, killing it instantly.

Kipio will stay far enough away from the party and the commoners as he can while staying in range. His hood is up and hopes none of the villagers hesitate enough to look at his face. He will cast produce flame at the farthest Kobold.

Kosef comes up out of the ground, hoping to look like a body rising or something equally intimidating.
Assuming he is the blue K on the 10 ft line, he steps to his right and attacks the kobold there, doing his best to behead: 10 to hit for for 11 damage (GWM BA if necessary, targeting the kobold by the tree to his left if it is within range: 16 to hit for 10 damage).
If Kosef is at the You location, he stands and makes his way toward the closest kobold, probably reaching the 15 ft line and being slightly out of range.
(Kendes would naturally have to be further up because of the range of a dart, so he could reach the northeast most tree kobold easily, were it still alive. If it is, he would attack it.)
Seeing the companion of the kobold he slew hiding behind a tree, Kendes rushes it with his spear, silent and deadly in his intent. He follows it up with a crushing blow to its windpipe.
As soon as the last kobold drops, Evendur turns a heads for the townsfolk. "As you can see mighty Torm is clearly with us brave townsfolk. We are however on a mission to save your mill. You could try to find your way to the keep the way we came or you could stay with us for a while. Perhaps you could help out with the layout of the mill and such."

The last of the kobolds die. The drop their slings and daggers, and 12 sling stones.
The townsfolk look among themselves. They seem uneager to help with the mill's defense. One of them, a middle-aged woman, says, "I wish we could help, but we are only simple people. We have no fighting skills like a knight of Torm, or..." she looks at Valas, Kosef, Kipio, and Kendes, trying to figure out what they are. She gives up and continues, "We thank you for your help, but we would like to head to the keep." As they prepare to leave, an old man turns back. He says, "I'll come with you and help. My son is one of the millers, and if they've killed him, I want to be there when you send them to the Nine Hells. And I know the layout. I've visited many times." He stoops down and picks up a dagger.
The mill is a little further down the river. Six humans are lighting fires. They are waving torches around and setting bits of straw on fire.
"Yes follow the river and you will find a secret entrance to the keep, Torm will guide your way there, and you old man come with us and we will find your son."
Evendur then approaches the mill and does his best not to alert the raiders to their presence. Stealth without advantage because of armour:20

Valas then gives the nod to the others that he is ready and tries to stealthily approach the mill.

Kipio sends a burst of flame which immolates a kobold.
