"One would think it could easily destroy a keep of that size. There may still be some truth to these attackers only wanting to pin down the town's forces while they hunt for valuables, which leaves us with the question of why raze the mill."
(OOC: We didn't get the dragon's name from a prisoner, did we? May have missed it, or should have asked in character! haha)
(OOC: I don´t think it was mentioned I´m afraid, but Sir Evendur really should have had the manners to ask for the name of the dragon he is about to slay ;-)
Kendes grabs each of the cultists' scimitars as well as the locket, the saffron, and the coin. He resolves to pass around the coin at the next opportunity that arises.
(OOC: You can all add 1 GP to your inventory because I will surely forget about it later, though Kendes will "hand it out" later.)
When the others start advancing on the mill, Kendes follows, on high alert for a potential ambush. He remains as quiet and hidden as possible as he follows after the others, stepping quietly, and being ready to dodge if he is attacked by something as he moves.
The mill is a large barn, 40ft by 20ft. There is an office to the south and a large grinding wheel to the north. The wheel produces some noise. The upper area of the barn is a loft. Bags of grain and flour are stored there. There is a stair case on the eastern side which leads up to the loft.
Evendur does not detect anything with his divine senses. The man has been punctured by a spear, though he appears to still be alive. He groans feebly at the group.
Kipio runs out of the reeds and behind Sir Evendur as he enters the mill. He is startled to see the man injured by the spear, he quickly scans around looking for any signs of who used the spear.
Even Sir Evendur realizes this is most likely a set ambush, but the scene with the helpless old man bleeding away in the mill compels him to act quickly so he enters the mill, ready with his shield for any spears coming his way, holding a torch in the other hand as to better spot any raiders laying in ambush. "I will try to save the old man, be ready to take any raiders out if they reveal themselves" he tells his companions as he enters the mill heading for the old man. (Taking the dodge action as he enters, planning to check on the old man, using lay on hands if it would help) Perception to spot any raiders:4 and initiative if needed: 10
Kosef followed Evendur into the mill. His Perception is 19.
Assuming he has seen the activity in the loft, he will take the dodge action and a turn of movement to make his way up those stairs. His initiative is 6.
"Clearly murders of an old innocent man. Clearly they merit the supreme punishment," he says. "Process, though. Process." He shakes his head and the thoughts away.
As Kipio runs for the old man, Evendur instead follows Valas towards the stairs, holding his shield above his head in an effort to protect the elf and himself from attackers above. (Also dodge action)
Kendes races for the stairs, not having seen any ambushers but simply following the others as they run. He does try to stay alert and dodge, obviously suspecting that whatever the others are racing for have already spotted the party. (full 30 ft towards stairs, stopping behind cover if possible)
The humans above start to attack. Three of them aim their spears at the group, while the one guards the stairs, and the other two start to climb down the ropes towards Kipio and the old man.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Valas easily anticipates and dodges the spear thrown at him and continues on towards the stairs. Seeing a spearman ready and waiting, he stops short and yells a word in elven to assault the man's mind and hopefully throw him off of his guard.
Mind Sliver DC13 INT, 4 psychic damage, subtracting 2 from his next save during this round on a fail as well
On his last turn, Kosef took the dodge action and moved toward the stairs. If possible, he would like to move up the stairs and attack the closest human, probably H3: 21 to hit for 11 damage (GWM BA if necessary, targeting the next closest human (H2?) in range: 16 to hit for 7 damage.
Going up wooden stairs to behead others actually reminds him of his days in the city watch, until he sees how many humans there are and that they are armed.

Evendur fails to deflect the spear aimed at him and it painfully pierces the armor of his right shoulder. He quickly removes it with a groan and, not being nearly as cautious as Valas, charges the raider by the stairs swinging at him with his sword.
(If he survives the readied attack) Longsword:18 Damage:4 and then tries to knock him off the stairs with his shield: 19
If Kosef beats him to the stairs, Evendur would still try to follow him up on the loft if possible, hoping that the other companions can deal with the clumsy rope climbers.

Kendes, seeing Evendur enter the building, also moves in behind him, making sure to dodge any attack as he dives for the closest available cover.
(Initiative if needed: 10)
Valas looks to Kipio and asks "can you help him?" with regard to the now injured old man.
Dodge action while looking around for trouble inside the mill.

Kipio and Valas notice slight movement in the loft above. Six humans are hiding there, and four of them are about to hurl spears at the group.
Human Initiative: 9
OOC: The staircase to the loft is 40 ft away. There are also ropes and pulleys which can be used to reach the loft. The loft is 15ft high.

Death on the Water and Baldur's Gate Bodyguard
Kipio looks up at the loft and then to Valas, "Yes provide me some distraction." Kipio runs to the Old man and will cast Cure Wounds.
Cure Wounds : 6
Initiative: 16
Kipio can roll initiative.
Initiative Order: Valas, Evendur, Kendes, Humans, Kosef
Valas, Evendur, and Kendes can take their actions.
Valas moves 30ft towards the stairs, keeping one eye on the spearmen above to time his effort to Dodge their throws.

The humans climbing down the ropes both fall gracelessly, and land prone next to Kipio. They also take 4 damage from their fall.
Kipio heals the old man. Kosef is now up.
OOC: I know Kosef planned an action, but circumstances have changed. Once Kosef goes, Valas, Kendes, and Evendur can go again.
