"Don't shake your scimitar at me," Kosef says, "you little pile of lizard droppings. Just shut your flapping gap and let us add our treasure to the Queen's hoard."
Due to his carefully chosen route through the camp Valas seems to go unnoticed.
The cultist seems surprised that Sir Rudneve does know about the eggs, but looks even more suspicious at a mention of adding treasure to the hoard. "Rezmir left with the treasure, soon after the prisoner escaped," he says. "It seems like if you were at the camp and were ordered to protect the eggs you would know Rezmir left with the treasure, and if you were stragglers from the raid, you would not have been assigned to protect the eggs. Surrender, or I'll use your corpses as dragon food."

Valas initiative: 17
Approaching quietly nearby, Valas sees the potential for trouble and readies his newly purchased bow. When the cultist seems to reject Sir Rudneve and the ruse he lets an arrow fly. (If applicable based on distance, initiative, etc. of course.)
Kendes is able to approach stealthily, but acts to late to take part in the battle. Though Valas' arrow missed, Kosef's sword and Evendur's lance quickly finish off the cultist. The way into the cave is now clear.
The sun from outside provides bright light in the cave entrance. A few columns of rock rise up from the ground to the ceiling. The cave branches to the east and south. To the east there is a slight drop off with wooden stairs, and to the south there is an area of darkness.

Evendur rides back to the hunters. "Now leave and make sure we never find you in service of the Cult of the Dragon again." He says in a commanding voice. Another intimidation if needed:22 (with advantage from numerous sources I think)
Presuming the hunters leave peacefully, unless more interrogation is necessary, Evendur then leaves Bayard and his lance close to the cave entrance and readies himself to enter the caves, sword and shield at the ready. "By Torm, we will now strike back at the heart of the dragon. Brave companions, let us find those eggs and thwart the evil designs of the cult." Perception when needed:10
(OOC: It´s ok to let the hunters go right? Otherwise just stop Evendur. Does Kendes and/or Valas want to sneak in and scout or perhaps Xymor wants to? Otherwise Evendur could go first followed by Kosef, Kendes and Valas I suggest.)

"Or," Kosef whispers, "let us ask the hunters to join us. We can even pay them a little of what we find. The better our numbers, the better our odds!"
If increasing our numbers sounds good (and if the hunters are not obviously working for the cult), Kosef will say, "You are surely skilled hunters. Join us. We will share the spoils. You can make this area safe for yourselves and future hunts. You can not be hunted by dragons, if you let us your bows and skills." Persuasion: 11
If the hunters won't be persuaded or asking for their help seems like a bad idea, Kosef will ignore them.
(OOC: Well the hunters knew that the cultists headed west and that "there´s still dragon-dogs, cultists, a dragon-man and a purple-wearer up in the caves" so I would imagine that they are at least working with or for the cult, just not as fanatically as the cultist guarding the entrance :-)
(Kendes will just stay hidden as we go in, because why waste that sneaky stealth roll :) That means Kendes is up front, but hidden, though. Particularly since he didn't backtrack to talk to the hunters again.)
Seeing that the others dispatched the guard handily, Kendes continues to press against the cave wall and descent further, keeping an eye and an ear out for any more cultists inside.
Perception: 21
If he spots or hears signs of movement or more cultists, he will take stock of the situation and retreat towards the others to inform them of what he saw.
Valas will offer to scout ahead into the caves if the group prefers, relying in his Darkvision, Stealth and newfound mastery of the Invisiblity spell (which lasts an hour until he breaks the spell by attacking, etc.)
Evendur waits by the cave entrance with Kosef. "Brave Kosef, my shield is broad, once we get inside the cave stay close and it will protect you." He says watching into the cave for movements.
(OOC: Reminder that if you would end your movement next to Evendur he will soak d10+2 damage per round.)
Evendur does not notice anything when he looks inside the cave, but Kendes notices the faint outline of a person in the shadows slightly to the south of the entrance area (about 70 ft inside the cave).
Image of cave entrance, x = person
The hunters seem reluctant to join the group. "They pay us well," one says, and another says, "We don't want to get involved. The cult has never harmed us." The other hunter is thinking about Kosef's words, and says, "Those cultists paid us well, and dragon-dogs and humans are far more dangerous than antelope. I'll need 5 gp for this." The hunter looks at Kosef, waiting to hear if the deal will be accepted. The others shake their heads disapprovingly and get on their horses. They ride away with the antelope horse behind them.
"So a mercenary, make sure you earn those pieces of gold." Evendur says sternly to the hunter, not entirely trusting the loyalty gold would buy. "What do we call you?" He asks the hunter while waiting for a sign from Kendes or Valas.
Kendes slinks back to the others and points out the cultist trying to hide at the entrance to the cave. "Quiet. He thinks he was not spotted, so there's still a chance to catch him by surprise," Kendes murmurs. "We should find a way to take care of that one silently before we go in further."
He stiffens as he overhears some of the conversation Kosef has with the hunters. 'We don't want to get involved' and 'The cult has never harmed us' hit a little too close to home. He glares a little as Kosef hands the man his money, but says nothing.
"Take care of him? I would have thought you´d want to skewer him on that sharp spear of yours brave Kendes. Either way it seems like a task for you and Valas."Evendur says taking things literally as usual, but now being prepared to reinforce should Kendes and Valas fail in silencing the hiding cultist.

He prepares to attack.
Initiative: 5
(Could Kendes, on hearing this conversation, have tried to approach quietly? If he could here's some stealth: 26)
Kendes initiative: 7
"Tedious conversation anyway." Evendur says to Kosef and charges the cultist.
Evendur Initiative:1
Lance:17 Damage:4
Evendur follows up with his shield trying to knock the cultist prone:14
Gritting his teeth, Kosef attacks as well: 20 to hit for 13 damage.
His initiative is 15.

Evendur is fine with Kendes and/or Valas scouting ahead as long as they don´t take out the whole cult while doing so ;-)
Kosef nods his head and waits for scouting news from Kendes or Valas. He tries to keep a watchful eye on the rest of the camp.

Kosef nods at Evendur's words. "Thank you for the reminder," he says.
