Using the rod, glistening with his former life, as a staff Zied motions onward. "Regroup. Sounds correct. Crawl if I had to." Heading towards regrouping with the others.
Ed lays his hands over his most egregious wounds and calmly lets his divine power flow over them, a soft glow like pre-dawn light pulses for a moment then is gone. Feeling much stronger now he rejoins the others both physically and mentally with his senses restored, visibly relieved at each of their continued existences. "Hah, takes more than a few pebbles to put us down!" As he says this, he is leaning on a large chunk of wall that has impacted the ground with such force there is a small continuous crater-like depressions around it. Seeing that Zied is still in a bad state, the Paladin walks over and again his touch flares, this time though it is a suffusing warmth completely absent of the light from his divine powers.
"I would much rather, Alessa, like to believe that their wounds are too serious to tend. Unfotunately with how our luck has gone in this realm so far I fear this may be the end of the round, and we shall have to deal with their evil again before we leave this Barovia. Let's join up with Regmiir and those children, he looks to be scouring the devastation for something. Perhaps we can find something useful amongst all this. Though I think your flour might be gone now Zied."

"I share both your hope and your concern, though, concern more so. It is not easy to kill one hag. All three of them, when they are together is a magnitude harder task." Alessa was trying to pace her steps in accordance with the most wounded. "Can not say I am looking forward to our next meeting with them. But so hope your words of leaving this place became a reality one day."
A very questionable reality, she could add, considering the task ahead. But right now in the best traditions of "baby steps" philosophy, they just had to make it to the town.

Sezsu wipes his dry eyes with the back of a hand and sniffs (an affectation he picked up around other children). He straightens as the bright turquoise of his eyes re-intensifies. His expression hardens again as he peers back toward the ruins of the mill.

Rejoining the group he nods at the others' words. "Nothing to be done right now. We need to get to the relative safety of a town."
Regmiir returns to the group as Sezsu begins marching down towards the road. "Oy, 'e must be in a rush, eh?" Reg snorts, "I like it."
He regards the remaining crew, "Milady," a curt nod is sent to Alessa and he turns to Ed and Zied, "Gentlemen. Glad to see yeh are all right. Listen, I know we 'ad got off to an awkward start, what with t'crate and t'coven and all. 'Owever, if yeh would 'ave me in company with yerselves, I would gladly take yeh up on the offer."He thought to remind them all again of his being here for the purposes of their rescue, but decided to belay the notion and defer to their senses of nobility instead.
"Besides, yeh got determination and good 'eads about yeh. Might be needing more of that drive if we are t'make it out of 'ere."
Ed chuckles at the stout dwarf's phrasing, "Why, Regmiir, are you changing from stick to carrot so soon? You're a good lad in a fight, and man, errr, dwarf-handling that cart to get those innocents to safety was no small feat." The paladin leans down slightly and claps Regmiir on the shoulder with one hand, whilst extending the other forwards. "It would be an honour to travel with you until we are free of these cursed lands sir dwarf."

Day 5 - 12:00 p.m.
The party gathers their things and, rather than linger to investigate the windmill remains and risk further trouble with hags, heads off into the woods. The trail leads east then northeast, seemingly away from the village but lower down the mountainside, suggesting it may switch back toward town. Eventually.
As you walk, the children explain that they are from the village of Barovia (where you met Granny). They explain that their parents literally exchanged them for meat pies, and that the "mean, old lady" tied them up and placed them in a burlap sack while they were brought here and held captive for the past several days. They aren't sure exactly how many. The old women fed them well, but kept them in cages. They aren't eager to return home because of what their parents have done.
After about 30 minutes, Sezsu notices something unusual. Through the mist, he sees a black bird circling overhead. When it feels eyes upon it, the raven flies away, but it’s back before long, keeping its distance.
A short time later, Regmiir spots a leather-wrapped bundle stuffed inside a hollow log not far from the road. The bundle contains one set of common clothing sized for a human adult. They have a drab Barovian style to them.
Day 5 - 2:00 p.m.
The roads dips down a steep path, then rises gently to the top of a slope surrounded by craggy evergreens. A wolf's howl can be heard just past the treeline. This is followed by whines and low growls. No fewer than eleven wolves emerge from the trees. The powerful canines watch their prey with piercing yellow eyes, darting their tongues across sharp, white teeth.
"Oh come ON..." Sezsu groans as his posture slumps at the sight of the wolves. "I really do hate it here."
Glancing around at his companions, he once again clutches the pendant hanging around his neck, makes a series of liturgical-seeming gestures in the air, and calls on the Moonmaiden's blessing to aid Edlanar, Regimiir, & Zied in their forthcoming onslaught. (+1d4 to attacks & saves)
Hearing the howls of the hunt, Ed grimly places his hand on his sword and looks to the others. "Protect the children, Zied can you give them some rocks to throw?" Ed marches forward past his allies to the pack on their flank. The silence vetween his footfalls shortening with each step as his steady march hastens, turning to a charge. His words of prayer as he moves are ominously steady and montone, "Lathander, guide this blade, protect these innocents, see us to victory once more. For the DAWN!" The last is a resonbing warcry, bellowed into the faces of the wolves as Ed bursts into light once more, casting light about him, and the waves of heat again ripple from his blinding form. From the radiant form Ed's blade ruthlessly swings in a wide, low sweep, making it difficult for the wolves to dodge to the side, raising his sheild to cover the opening left.

Ed chuckles at the stout dwarf's phrasing, "Why, Regmiir, are you changing from stick to carrot so soon? The paladin leans down slightly and claps Regmiir on the shoulder with one hand, whilst extending the other forwards. "It would be an honour to travel with you until we are free of these cursed lands sir dwarf."
Regmiir returns the gesture and locks Ed in a firm handshake, "Yeh, well don't be thinking I won't prod yeh if t'situation calls for it, eh?" He hears the quip from Sezsu as he trips and lets out a rare chuckle.
Similarly brandishing warhammer and shield at first sign of the wolves, Regmiir braces himself for combat. He scans his surroundings and notes the children are safe with Zied for the moment, but catches a pack suddenly descending upon Ed. Before he could react, his senses pick up the other set of wolves intercepting him and the others.
Reg bats the first two lunges away with shield and warhammer, parrying the blows just in time. Regaining his focus, he begins to feel a supernatural tug at his weapon arm. He gives into the sensation and lets this divine confidence begin to guide his blows.

Drawing a small vial, his other hand drawing his dagger. Striking the bottom of his pommel with the top of the vial. In the pommel a small bead cracks, and the vial pops open. Without sparing a look at Ed Zied tosses it over his shoulder-trusting his aim it lands on Ed, as Zied surges forward his blade turnign to flames as he stabs down at the wolf.

Shielded from the first wave of attackers, Alessa had the luxury of choosing her target. She wasted a second glancing around. At least four beasts (it was hard to count) swarmed Ed, bringing him down and seemingly preparing to tear him apart. Alessa did not have much magic left in her but hoped that what little she did have could at least distract the wolves.
