Maudath watches Eve as he keeps pressed against the wall. She's knocked but it doesn't sound like anyone is coming to answer the door.

"If they don't come and open the door," Maudath whispers, "just turn the knob and I can charge in and try and make them all quiet like nice and quick."

After a few moments the door opens a little and the man you saw thru Ipkiss is standing there blocking most of the way in. He looks at you "Whata you want?"

Eve stands up a little straighter and inclines her head just slightly towards the man, the barest hint of a bow, and says, “Master Kadroth, has requested the presence of the town-master... I’m to bring them down, right away…”. A slight bow once again. And an ever so slightly impatient polite wait, deferential but efficient.

Maudath readies himself to spring through the door at the first sign of trouble (call of alarm, trying to slam the door shut, or the like).

"Who're you? Where's Thoob? Usually Kadroth sends him to fetch the town speaker." He shifts his weight back slightly but doesn't move otherwise. 

“Tell me about it!!… <huff>… Thoob‘s ‘not well’ apparently… caught some kind of chill in his bones or something… A likely story!”.

”Just being a lazy git if you ask me!… And now I’VE got to pick up his duties!!…”. Eve frowns, like she’s beyond fed up with the whole thing already. And then straightens up again, remembering herself…

“Sorry… <uhem>…Me? I’m normally in the kitchens, but we’ve all been shuffled about to make up the numbers… Come on. If I do a good job, I might get noticed!… Rewarded!”. She looks ever-hopeful, and beams an ambitious smile at the man and waits, efficiently again… giving the man a couple of nods of encouragement.

Eve’s persuasion check: 14 

Realising that things were not going her way, Eve casts suggestion and says simply, ”Fetch me the town speaker immediately, and then settle down and sleep straight through til morning, there’s a good chap”. She shows him a kind smile.

Seeing Eve's stance change and catching an edge in her voice, and a quickly passing urge to take a nap, Maudath tenses his muscles, ready to spring into action if the guard doesn't do what he's told.

As you cast your spell you can see his eyes glaze over and he relaxes. He turns and opens the door a bit more "Oi' speaker, Kadroth needs you. Get a move on." 

Looking in you see squatting in the far corner of the room a pale man wearing a nightgown. He has an unkempt beard and seems hard at work filling a chamber pot. “Perfect timing,” he says, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Can I have a moment to finish please."

The cultist then moves over to the bed and with a yawn lays down and closes his eyes. 

"What's taking them so long, I feel like I have been here for like almost 20 days! They tire my beauty, well they would if it wasn't INFINITE!" She said while doing the most grandiose gesture she could create
"It's no fun when there's no one around" she sighs
"Making me wait, how dare they?"

“Take your time, Mr.Speaker… Oh, and get properly dressed please. And we need to cross the courtyard and round and thereabouts…. I’d recommend you bring your warmest clothes and boots!… …I’ll wait!…”. Eve is on a spell-success-high, and is desperately thinking on her feet!…

"We just walking out of here with him?! You should make him invisible instead of me!", the Professor whispers excitedly.

Eve turns, sighs, and whispers back, “Well I would,.. if I hadn’t just ‘exhausted myself’ getting this far!… <Hmmph>… Look, if we can lay low and entertain the speaker for a bit, maybe I can regain a little energy, and we can do that after a ‘little rest’, (and some questions) maybe!…”.

"Back to our rooms? Hole up in there, I can see what I can figure as far as his 'illness', and go from there?"
