You move to (a1) and 40 feet opposite appears another dark tower, identical to the 1st with little lighted window and shadowy silhouette.

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
(The only places left are those for pawns, do you want Abed and/or the dog to take any of those?)

Evre says “merely putting the king in check appeared to vanquish it, unless something else happened- perhaps move to where you threaten the others and we will see if that works to clear the board..”
(OOC: Horxik will not volunteer any of his minions to take the place of pawns on the board. That means that Abed will stay on the warlock's shoulder and the mastiff will stay in the back with the giant goat.
EDIT: Also... Unless I am mistaken, the black king (vampire king) moved to F7 so the white bishop (owl) moving to B5 didn't actually put the king in check. C4, on the other hand, would put the king in check. On another note, that fianchettoed bishop (skeletal figure) on G7 is making me nervous staring at Horxik (A1-Rook) from all the way across the board.)

You are right- the owl had to move to C4, not B5. I had a typo. (Comes from looking back and forth on multiple windows!). So the owl is sitting in C4.
(ooc: agreed, it is fair to assume that since you wanted to check the enemy king you would moved to (c4) to deliver check... there's a lot to keep track of in large battles.)

(OOC: Hopefully this helps out... But the Raven cannot take a piece this turn as it is simulating a knight. I'll update the board as the game continues to be played. If you have any questions about chess, feel free to ask! Although this game looks to be slightly different than pure chess (the king usually cannot turn invisible) so I may not have the answer to this game.)
(EDIT: On another note, is there a reason that our king just walked out in the open to get attacked when he could have stayed safe hiding behind our two pawns? I assume that we all die/lose if we get checkmated so Artur walking out into the middle of the board seems like a bad idea (Unless this is King of the Hill Chess which would make an already complicated encounter a very big 'yikes'!). Also, Evre's owl moved illegally because according to the notes, Joroden is a pawn that would be blocking the owl's movement and bishops cannot jump over pieces. Not sure if that needs to be retconned or if the owl has a pass because it can fly?)
(I think we all defer to the mathemagician for our moves! My original thought was for you to move the Raven to F3. I was trying to visualize this in my head and not doing a good job. Need to break out a chess set!).

Praeda steps onto the first available space.
I have a weird sense of humor.
I also make maps.(That's a link)
(@Praeda)
You step onto tile (d2) and 30 feet opposite appears a zombie (d7).
Initiative Order:

Owl (f1)
Skeletal figure (f8)
Raven (g1)
Mounted orc (g8)
Kralog (h1)

The vampiric king moves to (f7).

Evre is not sure how this works, but she is going to try to move following the rules of chess.
Her Owl flies to B5, putting the king in check, (owl is moving as if it was a bishop)
The vampire king looks surprised and angry before vanishing in a puff of black smoke that quickly dissipates.
Skeletal figure (f8) moves to (g7).
