Yashin As you inspect the axel you notice the wood is pitted and burned, it doesn't take much thought to realize it it has had acid poured all along its length. mending is not going to fix this axel.
As the raven circles overhead it does not see anything of interest close by. The closest structure is the old castle looming to the North of you, that you passed 2 hours ago. (We won't have that be Dragonspear, just an old castle ruin.)
Ssej You search the area around, but see no sign of anyone set to ambush you. Minutes pass, and nothing changes.
It is around 8 P.M. now in game time. You still have up to 6 hours of travel you can do, but you also have a broken axel, as well as the fact you got a late start, so traveling your full 16 hours might not be a good idea regardless, not if you wish to have a normal start for the next day. Plus there is the axel to deal with...
Yashin watches the Necromancer with indifference throughout the morning. His god, or whatever passed for one, had sent him and Yashin assumed he would prove his worth, much as the others already have, but he did want to learn more about his new companion “surely the danger must be great if the gods gather a motley lot such as us. Where do you come from and what brings you to our merry band?”
"I come from where no one knows but a small few, and I like to keep it that way. My Lord sent me a vision of death and destruction. Truth be told, he is of a mind to prevent this because he claims such things as his design alone."
"Ah, but that's where you are wrong. Morality does exist on a personal level, true, but some things are just wrong, no matter how you look at it. I know you won't agree, but that doesn't change reality. Still, I agree that most people's...morality...is somewhat flexible but lie to themselves. I much prefer people like you who are honest about your views on morality. It's also possible to serve life and still kill. Depends on why you kill and the purpose of the killing is. If I kill one and that saves one hundred, have a served life? I think so. That's I've killed does not make me evil," Kallandra says.
"To enact death is to serve it, regardless of the balance. If the choice remains to allow life for death, then such is the way of things. A life is still taken at the cost of a life. As for morality, lay before me all the deeds of wicked men and women, and I will show you they are not so cruel as you believe. Often times, it is the cruelty of others who claim virtue who corrupt the innocent."
Looking to the broken wagon efforts from atop his own, Grishkar let's out a long, tired sigh. "Alright, it seems we're needing shelter. Everyone out, grab that wagon." The Necromancer impatiently directs his subordinates to places around the broken wagon and commands them to lift at once. "They may not last forever. It might be best to lend a hand as well."

"You're a thoughtful man, friend. But you're wrong. Were I to lay the deeds of the wicked before you, they would be just as wicked as before you explained them. I might understand the actions better but that would not make them less wicked. Of course, not all of their deeds would be wicked just like not all of the deeds of the just are just. These things, it is more a matter of degrees and of quantity," Kallandra replies.
Seeing the problem with the axle and hearing it cannot be so easily repaired, Kallandra pulls out her broom and, muttering the code word, she takes to the air. She maintains an altitude of between 70 and 80 feet and runs stays in the area above the group, not flying any sort of predicable pattern.
Yashin curses as he attempts to repair the wagon “Yes, Brock, the axle is ruined throughout, my magic cannot mend it. It looks as though it was corroded by acid, and we can all guess who is to blame.” He looks at the others “It looks like we will stay nearby tonight. Can any of you repair a wagon? Can we fashion a temporary replacement from a tree or can we find a suitable replacement nearby, perhaps near the ruins?”
He overhears Kallandra’s debate with the newcomer “Bah, morality is a blanket for the weak and pampered to justify actions and help them sleep at night. In the mountains, the strong do what they will to survive.”
He overhears Kallandra’s debate with the newcomer “Bah, morality is a blanket for the weak and pampered to justify actions and help them sleep at night. In the mountains, the strong do what they will to survive.”
Kallandra snorts as she prepares her broom, "Bah yourself, Yashin. You are yourself a moral person, unless you are telling me your people have no rules. I'm a moral person and have zero need to justify myself or help me sleep at night. Just about everyone is a moral person, did they but have a clue." Again, this is said without rancor.

Ichika jumps off the wagon and checks out the corroded axel. She largely stayed out of the conversation, except for the courteous nod she gave Grishkar as he joined them. It was intriguing to listen to their debate, but she knows she's here because of her calling, so that's what she's going to do. She agrees with Yashin's assessment on the axel. "Let's see what we can do." She says.
She looks around for anything that can work as a makeshift axel, or anything they could use.
"Now Yashin, everybody has their part in life. It is not about weak or strong, but how well we can work together, That is the great thing about life, people can cover for the weaknesses of others, inspire others, show each other a better way of living," He says hopping out of the Wagon and looking at the damage.
"If you have met me down the road a few weeks ago, you would have probably have tried to kill me, but look at us now drinking buddies and helping each other out. Well this is a trade way we may encounter a wandering tradesman who can replace the axle. We are not going much father today till we fix this mess. What was the stable hands doing letting someone tamper with a wagon like this? Well I do have a temporary solution that will help us get it off the road for now," says Brock pulling a box out of his bag.
After chanting some words Brock says, "Time to get up pebbles." As he casts summon construct a medium size stone golem appears out of the earth and begins lifting up the back end of the wagon so that they can roll the wagon of the side of the road.
"See different strengths," says Brock patting Yashin on the back as he helps lead the horse team towards the resting destination..
((In a contest between the two, I'm disappointed now I didn't take the Stone of Controlling Earth Elementals instead of the Censer of Controlling Air Elementals...))
Grishkar watches the golem move the wagon from his comfortable perch atop his own ride. His minions lingered around the area, waiting for further commands. "How long does that thing stay around? My comrades could lend a hand in carrying it to that ruin a few miles back."

ooc: I don't know. It's good to have options. You can summon an Air Elemental, I can summon a Fire Elemental (via magic item), and we have a stone golem. Plus Kallandra can also summon a celestial. We've got good options.
((Oh definitely, yeah. Although the 1min cast time is a bummer lol))

Ssej returns to the group and sighs in annoyance, still blathering on about morals and acts of right and wrong and somesuch, there is always a difference between what is right and wrong and that determination will change from one group to another and one area to another. I am a simple being, for me it all depends on how one treats another. If you are mainly a good person who looks out for others I have no issue with you. If you mistreat others and are generally an evil person you will have my dagger drinking your blood, regardless of what station you might have.
"There doess not appear to be anyone waiting for uss on the road ahead, we will have to make camp now and fix that axle, I am not familiar with what it takess to repair but I can eassily help, what do you need me to do?" Ssej asks the group as he returns.,
Kallandra Neither you nor your animal friends note anything that would resemble an ambush.
You can either work on the wagon here, haul it back to the old castle. You would have noticed a regular camp area there, where other wagons had pulled off the road for the night, at the point where they had traveled 8 hours from The Way Inn, and set up camp. You can also carry it forward, continueing South, just tossing it out to be certain you knew all options are available to you, just tell me what you do.
“Unless anyone of you have woodcarving tools and have a knack for it, it may be the best course of action to go back and ask someone from the camp if they can fix this issue,” says Brock looking back to the way they came.
Kallandra lands, recalling her creatures. "I think our best course is to use the necromancer's wagon and buy a new one in the next town. We will not lose time that way."
Ssej responds, "Do we even need this wagon anymore? We have enough carrying capacity among the lot of us, and since our new, friend , here now has a wagon, we can store anything big we need to carry in it. We can just unhitch the horses and leave the wagon behind. I am sure the ones who sabotaged this thing know approx where it would happen and probably are lying in wait for us in that spot, which I assume is back at that castle. I say we just take what we need and move on. What we should do is ditch the road entirely and just travel south through the country until we reach Baldur's gate or the road just outside Baldur's Gate. Though that would mean we would also have to ditch the skeleton wagon as well."
[OOC: LOL, I knew I took to long to type this one out.]
"I'd like to keep my property, if at all possible. So long as no one minds the mess, the wagon is available. Finding a place to keep a beauty of a horse such as mind is difficult in cities, as you may guess."
