The Old Timer whirs, rearing it’s head to the naughty boys who interrupted his snack. With a scolding stare, it comes forward to chomp down on Demetrios!
Lilly did not have that many potions (three, to be precise and one was just spent). But as long as she did, it was far more useful to apply them than to fight with her weak and unstable magic.
She darted towards the paladin: another Healing potion for 8 HP
Onu presses his attack, trying to draw the Old Timer's fury away from the brave halfling and the injured warrior 'Over here you useless sack of goo!'
Even as he speaks, his blade lashes out missing wide but drawing the monstrosities attention just long enough to open it for a follow on palm strike, the monk dancing and weaving to draw the creature's attention.

With the flurry of events unfolding, it was something easily missed, but after taking a moment to breathe, all could see. The hand which KD used to fire off her opening shot, had begun changing colours. It started with her palm, then her hand, spreading along her arm and to the rest of her body. KD’s skin was now a vibrant shade of blue!

Quick on her feet and without skipping a beat, Lilly finds herself at her friends side. She feeds Demetrios a potion while Onu lashes out against the monstrosity snacking on his companions. His first attack indeed misses, but does allow for him to follow up with a successful blow with his palm.

KD's eyes bug out as her skin turns blue, but the doesn't have time to process, with the machine still attacking. She tries again with her daggers, hoping to move around to find a weak spot in a flank, if that's even possible to do with a clock.

Demetrios truly didn’t anticipate that the creatures bite would do that much damage, but if it managed to knock down KD, then he definitely wasn’t an exception. Darkness went as soon as it came thanks to Lilly being quick on her feet though.
As he gets back up, he gives a halfling a thank you, and follows up the articifiers attacks with one of his own!

KD wasn’t the one who needed the upper hand this round, both of her daggers dug divets that messed with some rivets!
It was Demetrios however who could have used a little more time to accurately guide his hefty sword against the Old Timer. There was some good oomph to his thrust too!

This time the Old Gearzer noticed the little gnome sized red wonder. Whirring, it’d reach for her ladle and extend it out to point at Lilly. The sticky adhesive stretched and coated the inside of its arm. The visage then began to shift like it was licking its chops, but all you could hear was terrible grinding. Bulbs light up red, casting dramatic shadows along the clock face. “YooOo aRre nEEext, lllEEEetel RED!” And with a quick swipe, he’d reach for Onu instead!

It seemed no one was dying right now and Lilly got an opportunity to express her deepest displeasure with the shapechanger. The latter came in a form of another firebolt:

Onu's dancing drew its attention, but his ducking didn't do himself any good. He finds himself crushed by the creature's maw but manages to slip free from its embrace.
Even as the lifeblood slips away from him he lashes out with blade and elbow, attempting to drop the shapeshifter once and for all.
The Old Timer barely had seconds to register Onu slipping from his grip when the monk would slash down with a final blow against a load bearing component. Loud screeching and whirring followed, setting off a chain reaction of part failures which would then cause being to collapse. And as the figure became still, it’d shift, reverting to it’s natural form. A Mimic.

KD looks around to see if anyone is injured, ready to cure wounds, still trying to catch her breath.
"That was... that was what the kings were afraid of, I take it. Smart. That was terrible. Everyone okay? Anyone feel like some mushroom bread, and some mushroom booze? Onu, I'm willing to try it if you are..."and she collapses back to the messy floor.
Eventually, she collects herself and begins looking through the piles of junk for anything that might be interesting.
Lilly did not answer. She was fine (aside from that fall back at the entrance, that one still hurt) but she could not take her eyes from the greyish amorphous blob of ... something that just a moment ago was a small hill of gear. Gear! She looked around trying to spot her ladle and then carefully move towards it, trying not to step on the ... goo? piece of strange flesh? She was not sure and did not think she wants to really know.
"I guess it's dead?" Lilly did not plan to poke "the thing" with her ladle anymore but if there was some kind of rod/pole/staff around, she would try that. Eventually.
As his blade strikes true and the monstrosity they faced revealed its true form, Onu collapses to his knees, panting and bleeding.
'Everyone, is everyone, is anyone....' the monk looks about, checking to see if his comrades are all accounted for and still on their feet ''Are we all here. Is everyone still alive?'
