Varek motions “No, thank you,” to Marten as he offers up his tea. Taking another bite of his meat pie, he listens to Gromedark’s naming suggestion. Finishing his bite, Varek adds, “I’m good with that. I sure something we’ll present itself.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Osborn ponders the naming issue. "Yes I agree, the old name no longer seems to fit. Ah well, to the annals of history we consign it then. And yes, I agree that we should wait until a new name presents itself. Such things are best done organically I feel"
Looking around, he thinks aloud "A new job would be handy. Bigger crew, variety of talents...where to find a lead?"
He scans for signs of job ads or patrons seeking mercenaries/contractors: Investigation 15
During your discussions the songs being played comes to an end. After that, you hear a bit of talking you can't quite hear from the tavern, and then a loud noise sounding like a explosion, and that panicked shouting. What do you all do?
As you all exit the tavern in a different methods, you see a huge scene, guards are all about the town trying to fend off several goblins and a volley of arrows flying to builds from a small row of hobgoblins. One of the buildings is in a bright red flames, with a group of guards and buckets of water putting it out. The guards overseen by Guard Chief Ives, while the goblins are commanded by a a shouting goblin in a iron helmet yelling orders at other goblins. It is wearing a symbol that Gromedark recognizes as a symbol of their old goblin war camp he deserted from. Varek, at this point, five goblins notice you and draw their weapons. Can everyone roll initiative?
Osborn yelps at the sound of the explosion and follows Gromedark, saying "I think you're right Marten, let's head into adventure!"
When he sees the carnage unfolding, he feels a chill in his bones and says (to anyone near enough to listen): "This might be one of those save-now-negotiate-fee-later situations"
Varek’s focus is drawn from the carnage to the five goblins not too far away. He immediately draws his bow and, ensuring he has a clean line of sight, let’s fly two arrows at the two closest goblins.
(occ: Using Dread Ambusher, I can take two attacks but only on my very first attack within the combat. This is my first combat roll. So, hoping I did it correctly. Please keep me honest, here.)
First arrow: Attack: 18 Damage: 12
Second arrow: Attack: 25 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
Second arrow should include an extra 1d8 for Dread Ambusher.

“Great. Who do we need to speak with?” Varek takes a drink from his tankard between bites.

Marten finishes his tea puts the now empty cup in his pack for later.
"Well my new friends sounds like our first adventure came to us."
Marten climbs up to the roof of a near by building to get a better view.

Ooc: ouch not a good first roll for marten
As Marten does his parkour to the rooftops and Gromedark stealthily darts out the back back door, Varek stands and hurries out the front door.
As Varek quickly heads down the street towards the commotion, he looks about, keeping an eye out for anyone or anything out of place or suspicious.

(ooc: I can’t get the die roll results. This is all new to me. So, I presume user error on my part.)
(ooc: Nevermind. I didn’t know the roll would show upon post. Lesson learned.👍)

(ooc: How far away from Varek are the goblins that saw him? And, how far away from Varek is the goblin leader?)
The leader is about seventy feet away, while the charging goblins are about twenty feet away.

(ooc: Sorry. Looks like I entered the second arrow damage incorrectly. It should have be 1d8+4 plus an extra 1d8.)
(occ: Sooo…second arrow damage : 12 )
Gromedark could sneak out stealthily, and before we start combat, were still waiting on two people to roll initiative.
(occ: Varek can definitely hold off his shots, waiting for cues from other party members.)
Sorry if we are waiting on me, thought I already did.
Initiative: 12
(Ooc: yep that's my bad still learning the pbp nuance forgot to put initiative if front)
