Ressys is completely unfamiliar with the small dragon creature; Qidira has heard of faerie dragons, but little detail about the tiny creatures.
Brandon and Durnham, by contrast, are well read on the subject and may well have encountered them before. They are renowned for mischief and a sense of humour, intelligent but only able to speak in draconic or sylvan. They prefer the company of fey creatures and/or those who appreciate their humour and satisfy their short attention spans, and are natural spellcasters.
The buyer’s eyes crease at the corners as they recall the area known as Thin Sheets: “It is peppered with aeorian sites and has given up a good amount of relics. But it is also fraught with danger, through its inhabitants as well as its construction. The best advice that I can offer, passed to me by those who have explored the Sheets, is to keep a keen eye on the environment. Circling carrion means an area of death, herds of snow elk will know the safe routes, and so forth”
Answering Kotar’s question, they say “Any animated object is powered by mechanics or magic – the latter can be disabled if you have the arcane knowledge to do so. Or certain artifacts possess the power to nullify the weave for short periods of time. Some automatons are created with a key word or phrase which may deactivate them, but if one exists for these defenders then any clues will be in the vault itself”
Qidira speaks up, "If I may..." glancing at the little dragon again distracted by being so close to such an interesting creature then back to the Buyer, "..is there another title we should refer to you as besides The Buyer? I feel a little disrespectful calling you that. Like calling a Wizard just Wizard for instance. Is it ok that we do so? They said that is how you are referred to. And if you could tell us if you know anything in particular that Gulrim may have been seeking? I had heard you were friends. We understand that he has been gone for some time. Ressys and myself spent some time in his quarters trying to glean any information we could regarding his travel course and destination in case our paths may cross so that we can keep an eye out for him. I'd hate to pass close to a location he might be and not know to look." She speaks quickly knowing the urgency of time and stops just as fast trying to find some appropriate posture for someone of obvious import in the area.
He did not understand what the man said about the Weave. They were not talking about any sort of cloth, so Kotar imagined it was some magic term he was not familiar with. Durnham probably could explain it to him better at a later point. What the goliath did understand was that there was a chance to find in the vault a way to stop the machines from attacking. It was more likely they would have to stope the sentinel by battle, he was sure of that, but if there was another alternative, one that could conserve their forces even a little bit more and make their mission ever so slightly easier, ever so slightly faster to accomplish, then he would be more than happy to take it. Question was, would he be able to take it?
“Thank you, Mr. Buyer.”Said the fighter with a nod of his head. He wanted to ask his companions when they would be departing. The answer depended on Orvo too, of course and the next day was likely, but he wanted to be sure. Instead, he kept his silence. The others could want to ask more of the Buyer, maybe sell something. I suppose we could make good money by bringing some sentinel back.
The Buyer smiles at Qidira’s question: “I do have a name given by my parents, but I am happy to answer to The Buyer. It both defines and describes me, and I take no offence from it”
Their face saddens slightly on the subject of Gulrim: “He was – is – a good person. We were both here when Syrinlya was founded and have sought each other’s counsel on many subjects over the years. I know that he was looking to seek the reason for the strange nature of Mutalos; that region of the island has been observed shifting form suddenly and drastically”
They pause a moment, seemingly trying to assess the plausibility of what they are about to say: “The whole region has been known to shift from snowy tundra to desert, to forest or to swamp. Gulrim suspected a powerful magical source to be the cause, and was desperate to acquire it for the good of Uthodurn. I'm afraid I would be of no help in guessing his path, although Morgo may give you access to his tent if you wish to search for clues”
Addressing Durnham, they say “Thank you very much, Dew here is a good companion. I knew Urgon more by reputation, although we traded occasionally and he struck me as an honest and determined man. Morgo told me of his passing, and I am truly sorry for your loss”
Qidira nods gratefully at The Buyer, "Morgo was very generous to allow me time to review the research in his tent already. I've gatherer quite a lot, but the information regarding Mutalos is new so might resolve some questions that I had in my studies. Thank you." Then waits patiently for the others to make inquiries as they will.
Durnham nods back at the condolences. “We weren’t very close but… ah… I’m finding that I didn’t know much about him really. I thought of him one way but the reality is very different. Tell me, do you sell items here as well as buy?”
Ressys stood by quietly. He wanted contact with the buyer to ensure that there was a way to send the the antidote back quickly. Having been assured of this he had nothing else to say.
“Thank you for the information, you have been most helpful.”Brandon nods his thanks to the Buyer “With any luck, we will return with the antidote and take you up on your offer of transport. We will keep an eye out for your professor as well. Who knows we may even come back with another artifact or two.”He smiles at the last.
He turns to the others “We should be on our way soon, we have lots of ground to cover. Should we leave tonight or first thing in the morning?” He pauses as Durnham asks about items for sale and looks expectantly for the Buyer’s answer.
Once Durnham has his answers, Qidira speaks up, "Even though its late, we have little time. I say we head out immediately. Are we all set? Is there anything else anyone needs? I'm not entirely clear on our destination or travel route, but reviewing Gulrim's notes I have some other notes that may prove helpful should travel take us in that direction."
“I think our departure time would depend on Orvo.” Said the goliath as Qidira and Brandon started to plan the group’s departure. He intended to tell them later, but it seemed to be too adequate to speak now. “He agreed to guide us to the Vault and when we left his home, he stayed preparing some equipment.”
There was also the matter of the light and time. If the night was too close maybe it would be better to wait for the next day. Darkness was no problem for the dwarves or to Qidira and they could always use some torches, but the weather was far colder in the dark and the winds tended to be stronger.
He imagined if they would have luck finding some elk herd or, at the very least, avoiding the growing Remorhaz. Somehow he found it easier to happen the other way around, avoiding the elks and finding the monstrosity. Maybe I’m being too pessimistic, the fighter said to himself with the voice of his mind. Need to stop.
“We can go check back on him.” Not that Kotar thought he would have finished preparations already. No, that war far too unlikely. It was the only alternative he could conceive besides waiting for the next day.
“Yes, I do sell also” says The Buyer in response to Durnham’s question. “I can trade for items or coin, what do you seek? I have potions as well as a few enchanted items”
Qidira raises her little eyebrows hearing this news, "Orvo would be a welcome guide! Definitely worth the wait for him as he'll likely save us much time. I'm fine with what you all think best, this region is completely unfamiliar to me and evening travel may not be workable."
The ears of the firbolg stand to attention at the mention of selling items. This was certainly more interesting. He steps forward.
"You have potions? Perhaps healing potions? What other kinds might you have?" He then removes the 6 enchanted arrows that were collected from Hulil back in Old Croakers cave. "I have these to exchange. What kind of deal can we work out?"
At Ressys' offer of an exchange with the Buyer, Qidira realizes that they've offered to sell or exchange items and starts to dig in her pack not being able to resist a negotiation. Waiting a moment for the Firbolg's negotiation to complete then approaching. "I have these to trade should you be willing?" She presents the Mechanical Frog and the 'Dreams' Silver Snuff box she's converted to a music box. "If you are, I'm looking for any sort of Tinker materials, Small Gems/jewelry making materials or even potions if you see enough value in them? They're my own creations and I'm quite proud of them, my finest work yet I think!" She finishes looking at them fondly.
Durnham pays about himself looking for anything if value… and quickly realizes he has nothing. But still he asks “I don’t have coin or uhm… items for trade now… but in the future would I be able to purchase or trade for any spell scrolls? I could use some new spells to transfer into my book.”
The Buyer’s eyes sparkle at the sight of the enchanted arrows: “Well these do look nice – may I?”
With Ressys’s permission they take the arrows and examine them. They produce a small pearl and an owl feather from a pouch at their belt, sing an incantation and clasp their hands together and focus on the arcane ammunition.
They look up at the firbolg happy and say “I have healing potions, a potion of clairvoyance, potions to make you small or into a gaseous form; I can offer one potion for each arrow. Or in exchange for all six I can offer a greater healing potion or a potion of flying”
Appraising Qidira’s offerings (although not with the pearl and feather), they seem as delighted as with the arrows. “These are exquisite, you are quite the craftsperson. I can offer you the materials you desire, or a single healing potion, in exchange for them all”
Answering Durnham they say "Yes, I have a few scrolls to hand and my own spellbook. If you can offer items or currency at a later date then I will gladly share some arcane knowledge, young wizard"
Your host ponders the question for a moment and then replies “For one arrow I can offer a scroll of Catapult, Alarm, Feather Fall or Sleep. In exchange for three arrows I have scrolls of Blur, Knock or Scorching Ray”
Qidira grins at the Buyer, "Thank you! They took many hours to craft and fine tune, its a pleasure to hear their appreciated. Might I take a look at the materials you have to offer? Any small value gemstones in there?" She looks very hopeful and expectant passing the Mechanical Frog and the Silver 'Dreams' music/snuff box.
Her lack of Charisma causes her to forget the effect that lovingly looking after her creations might have but her personality can't help but show the child-like eagerness of looking forward to new items with glee.

Changing the subject, he then asks, “did you know my uncle Urgon well?”
