Yasei whispers to Bree: "Bree-san, I have an idea! If one of those fetid creatures were to break their tether, could you use your powerful magics to create another illusion which would distract those unintelligent beasts? Something like a newt?"

The gnome and Yasei do so poorly on their stealth rolls because of their ongoing conversation about the uses of illusion. ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
Haha just barely. Down the tunnel you all go. Its very dark, and after a bit the striders calm down to a resonable level of annoyance. Lets see what is further ahead.
As you proceed down the path, in one of the dark corners in a cave nook you see two bound dwarves. They are both starved, dehydrated, tied, and gagged. Both of them look very malnourished and beaten, but one is shaking uncontrollably. As you approach, the one who is not shaking seems to react to your approach, shaking his head as if to say “no more.”
OOC: Bree - Work your colorful, soothing songbird persuasion on those slaves! :-) Yasaei would probably just say "We're from the government. We're here to help."
If you guys are talking amongst yourselves once you approach the dwarves, the one who is not shaking stops for a moment, then, as far as you can tell, gets more hopeful - but you can't tell what he's saying because he is blinded and gagged with cloth.
The gnome puts on a disarming smile and approaches the dwarves with open hands. "Hey," she says quietly, "We're from outside, and we're here to rescue you, is it just the two of you? Your friend doesn't look so good."
Attention: As she approaches them, you all sense a strange... warping, like everything goes wobbly for a second. Something has shifted in the universe, and it makes you both anxious and eager at the same time... Tides of Chaos has been invoked.
She will try to be persuasive about our intent to not harm them (Persuasion roll at Advantage with Tides of Chaos: 18)
If she gets a positive response from the one who seems aware, she will go on.
"Okay, I'm going to take the gag off, but you have to be quiet, there are newts, and their weird mounts just up the way. Okay?"
Again, if he nods or seems positive, she will remove his gag, and we can all have a conversation. "My name is Bree, who are you?"
She will try to discern if there is any deception going on (Deception roll to detect deception: 13)
If all goes well, she says to Yasei, "Princess, go ahead and untie him." Then to Maldrek and Clayton, "Go see to his friend, see if he needs any healer attention."

Yasei's uber non-stealth ability check: 10
Last to know and first to be blamed...
As a free action, can I regret my life choices?
Sure
That's TWO rolls at or below 10. Many of them are about to break their tether.
No more rolls under 10.
OOC: Its only 2 rolls below 10 isn't it?
Oops
Clayton Cowboy Boots of Stealth: 10
OOC: Wooooo doggy that’s close

OOC > Bree is quite charismatic (15) and has proficiency in Persuasion, so +4 all told, but with the way I have been rolling...
