For earlier: Instead of going first, Maldrek pretended to go first and hid in the shadows next to the doorway until Bree was in front of him, then he stepped back into the marching order. He still kept an eye out for traps, he just stood behind Bree while he did it.
“Lastly, any clue about the Red Wizards?” Clayton thinks to himself, “Can’t believe that worked.”Then, Clayton leaves his Pact Weapon on the gold pile. He whispers over, “We should run now. That’s only going to stay put for a minute.”

OOC: You’re not a lion anymore, you’re back
(I had typed it, went into a doctor's appt, then hit send when I came out lol)
Reverting to her old form, Shariel reaches for her swords, "They say not to bite a hand that feeds, but that form gave me quite an appetite." Noticing everyone else's haste to leave, the elf turns to follow, "I'll be back, vermin."

Off to Area 16 now? It appears to be in the middle of the water, and is that a shark fin I see in the bay?
Crispy: What's our day countdown at now (days until our friend croaks)?
On the way to Area 16, Yasei is going to look for any available large chunks of meat or poultry. If there are sharks in that bay, I want to be able to distract them by throwing some snacks into the water, well away from where we want to go.
(Who has Papazotl? Spoiler: You may like the next area)

Sorry it's been busy at work. Yes, as long as you don't dilly dally, which you all clearly are not, you won't run out of time at this pace. I'll update as soon as possible. No doubt Bree is very excited about the next area.
(Omu realistically seems to only need about 2-3 days of game time at the most to complete. Seems to me that there was more exploring to be done. When you are given a map with, maybe 50-60 spaces and a time crunch, you either win with plenty of time to spare, or fall hoplessly short from the clock running out.)

AREA 16 - PAPAZOTL'S SHRINE
Crocodiles wallow in this muddy lake bed, from which rises a walled ruin. Two columns flank the entrance, carved with images of a long-legged bird with a needle-like beak. At the building's front, slimy steps ascend to an entry arch. See the little map in the DM notes for the shrine layout. Sorry it's so small. The water around the shrine is about 2 feet deep. A plaque above the shrine entrance, which Bree can read, says: PAPAZOTL TEACHES US TO BOW BEFORE NO ONE.
Beyond the shrine entrance, you can see a mosaic floor (16B). Moss clings to the stone work throughout this hall. The mosaic floor depicts a tall bird using its long, pointy beak to pin a monstrous frog-like creature with tentacles sprouting from its shoulders. Set into the far wall is a set of heavy stone doors. The mosaic tells the story of how Papazotl fought his enemy Kubazan. Kubazan betrayed Papazotl and was cursed.
The doors hang on heavy hinges, and are not locked, but they are closed. Anyone who has a STR over 20 can open it, but you must make a successful DC12 STR check. When it's open, you can access the next area (16C)

For earlier: Instead of going first, Maldrek pretended to go first and hid in the shadows next to the doorway until Bree was in front of him, then he stepped back into the marching order. He still kept an eye out for traps, he just stood behind Bree while he did it.
The kobold waves his hand, and Shariel *POP*s back to her natural form.
"Amateurs.." Kakarol mutters. "Leave tribute! Make like a tree and get outta here!"
Yasei whispers to Clayton: “Ask about the Red Wizard gang as well!”
Last to know and first to be blamed...
As a free action, can I regret my life choices?

Bree
Bree leaves an illusory copy of herself standing there and makes like said leaf, heading back up the stairs. Can't believe we're running from kobolds!
