"Yea, the animals are fine," Tellior says, supporting Kellen's comment. "And it would be great if maybe we could train the hawks and keep a few."

“I don’t know, Tell” Kellen frowns “On second thought, maybe we shouldn’t keep any of these hawks.  Celesta has her owl, and I hope to gain a familiar soon. They can be more useful than the hawks.”

Kellen turns toward the shop owner “Can you find these Bloodhawks a good home? How much would you give us for them?”

Tellior nods at Kellen's words. "Yea, more fanciful thinking than practical probably. I don't know a thing about having a falcon."

“If they need training- I don’t have time for that” celesta says.  “I think selling is the best option- unless one of you wants to adopt them- or one.”  

The spriggan responds first to Tellior’s compliment on the shop design, saying, “Why thank you. I don’t know why other folk feel like they must wall out the hedge. It is our home. It takes some care and time to tend to it and keep it from taking over the whole space, but paneling or stone barricades have never seemed very friendly to me.”

They turn to the baskets you put before them and add, “Hmmm…blood hawks, you say? Very feisty creatures. And not yet trained? They would be very valuable if they were! Not an easy task. I may know someone who would be interested. Let’s see…what would be a fair price…oh dear, this one looks quite injured…”

As Al’madath considers the birds and prices, Kellen and Celesta peruse the creatures in the various containers. Beyond the songbirds and puppies, you find some of the glass bowls have crabs and seahorses, snakes and lizards, each with a proper environment. One large woven basket has a few rabbits within--but what’s that? They each have a single horn upon their heads!

As you consider this wonder, the spriggan makes up their mind, “I could give you 25 gold pieces for each of the healthy ones and 12 for the injured one. A total of 112, if you are willing to sell. I assure you, I will take very good care of these beasts, and get them the training that will allow them to work well with others and not be a nuisance. Then I will find them good homes where they will be valued and treated with respect. What say you?”

A low rumble of laughter escapes Al’madath, “Very fair! It’s actually impressive that you were able to catch the others without injuring them.”

“Sounds fair to me.. thank you-  are we agreed?  What  are these horned rabbits called?” Celesta says.  She’s still enjoying looking at the creatures and not paying a lot of attention to the negotiating. 

Tellior quickly agrees with Celesta. "Yes, I think the offer is more than fair.  And I'm sure you will take good care of them." 

“Hmm? Oh, yes, that seems more than a fair offer” Kellen replies absentmindedly, already looking at the other animals  “Finding them a good home is the important thing.  I am sure you will take quite good care of them.” 

He gestures to the strange creature that Celesta had pointed out  “What are these, a type of unicorn rabbit?”

“Very good, very good,” says Al’madath and he begins to count out the coin, carefully setting it in ten gold piece stacks. As he does so, he glances up at the single-horned rabbits that have caught Celesta’s and Kellen’s attention and absently replies, “Those? Just a few garden-variety almirajes. Quite common here. Easy to tame and loyal to their masters.”

"al-mi'raj?" ember asked casually "how much would they cost?"

Tellior finally moved over to see what everyone is looking at. "Well! You looking to bring home a little bit of the Feywild there Ember?" 

"a little, also back in the material plane they are very rare"

Kellen took another long look at the creature before laughing “Well Ember, I never thought you would take a fancy to bunnies, even fey ones.  I thought the blood hawks would be more your style!”

Kellen turns back to the shop owner “We do have more errands after we finish here, could you recommend a good shop for arms and armor for my friend here, and perhaps a shop with incense and herbs for spells?”

"You could get 2 or 3 and start a whole business when you get back." Tellior says with a laugh. "I see it now, Ember's Bunny Farm!"

He hears as Kellen asks about shops. "Yes, we should probably get on our way."

“Let’s keep the pet shopping in mind for after we complete our missions, I think!” Celesta laughs. “They are very cute, but we have enough to handle as it is!  Yes let’s be on our way”. 

After handing over 112 gold, Al’madath bustles about taking care of the blood hawks. Finally, he responds to Ember, “A mere 6 silver for an almiraj, but like most pets, that’s only the beginning. A tenday worth of food and supplies runs about 6 gold. If you have any interest in training, that’s another 6 gold per tenday. While they are easy to care for and train, they do take a certain amount of time and attention. It sounds as though you all are rather busy and on the move, perhaps.”

He turns to Kellen and says, “Now, about armor and other supplies, you will find a little bit of everything at Sentra Crossing. Just head away from the palace, sunward down the main road here, and you can’t miss it.”

“Indeed, I was going to take you there next,” says Aspen. “I didn’t want to rush your pet trading experience.” Unless anyone wants to make a purchase, he is ready to lead you all toward the market.

Tellior nods to Al'madath, "I think you are right about the almiraj.  We do run around quite a bit."  He looks at his friends to see if they agree.  "Thank you very much for your assistance with the hawks. I'm sure they will have a good home now."

He steps towards the door, ready to go. "Lead the way Aspen."  

(Do we want to just keep the gold collectively or split it out? I'm not sure if we've split it before!  I think so?)
