Using Stool as an intermediary, he finds thinking sentences is much easier than speaking in his rusty Common.
<Yes, Eldeth. We need to be prepared to move quickly today. If the scarred drow is going to act it will have to be today before we're shipped out. But as far as I can tell we have very little that can be used as weapons. If the guards were sloppy and they've left a locker open, or a chest unlocked, we might be able to pick up a knife or dagger. With that I can get this mask off at the right moment and be of some actual help in the escape.>
It's super uncomfortable to be rubbing the pallid feet of the drow warriors, even without the crossbow to the head, but that certainly makes it worse. None of you are wanting to go too energetically, in case it causes a finger to tighten on the mechanism that sends a bolt into your head. Even Ront seems nervous, licking his tusks as he focuses on the foot he is cradling in is large hands, his breaths coming rapid and shallow. Eventually the drow get tired of your half hearted attempts, and call a thorough moisturizing good enough. They hand you bundles of laundry and detail some of the lower tier guards to escort you down the lift to the river, where you're put to work washing drow clothes in the cold water. ((Give me a CON save!))

Lia is used to waking up from bad dreams, but this time the panic continues when she wakes up, since she still can’t breathe… for a second or two… before she sits up and clears the disgusting feeding tube.
She takes a few calming breaths and nods to Shuushar, who had come over to help. ‘I’m okay, I’m okay. Thank you’, she tries to say with her body language and a couple of nods and gestures.
When she’s taken down in the lift to the base of the waterfall, she tries to properly gauge: a) the distance down, and b) assess what’s there at the bottom (how wide and deep is the pool there? Would it make for a relatively safe diving in spot?)
She’s also trying to: c) spot any escape routes from the bottom. Any tunnels and caves?
((I guess some of that would be immediately apparent but some might need a roll? Perception (?): 12 )).
With your natural warmth, the chilly water poses no issue to you. You have a good sense of how far you can see in darkness, so noted when the webs and points of the stalactites went out of view as the lift descended... it was a little over halfway, so you'd put it at a drop of around 100 feet from the silk, and higher if on were able to jump from the landings or rope bridges above. However, with all of those out of sight above, it's kind of guesswork to place where anything would be in relation to the river, with the exception of the waterfall itself.

Can Thom speak quietly to Buppido and Sarith without the drow guard hearing? He wouldn't be concerned about the quaggoth hearing (yet), but wondering about the drow guard.
Also, can Thom get a good look at the waterfall when he's cleaning the buckets, specifically how deep the water might be at the bottom? And if he might be able to survive that type of a fall? And then possibly where those 3 little small passageways might go at the bottom of the waterfall like after the beach?
Galingal roll for luck (where's a halfling when you need one?): 8
Galingal centers his breathing at the mention of the dagger, not wanting to give anything away. With the dagger able to cut him and 'La' free, they might be able to even the odds.
He then thinks at Stool <It is not food, but we can get a lot of food with it. Stool, I do not know your kind but are you able to hide anything on your body? Eldeth, show them the dagger.>
((Thom could converse with them, though you've only heard Buppido speak in what you think is Undercommon.))
Lia:
It's a looong way down, and while you're not sure about the pool, it certainly looks more welcoming than the rock of the cave floor. You're taken to cast nets into the stream a ways down, it does seem much shallower.
"I bet five gold I catch something before you!", Jimjar offers. ((Roll a d20 for his Survival check if you want to take him up on it.))
Galingal:
<I can hid it... but not for eating?>, Stool sounds disappointed.
Eldeth works her way over to Stool and he lifts up the flap of his cap, exposing a soft, pale stalk. Some fungal tendrils extend to take the dagger from Eldeth.

Thankful to be out of the foot rubbing, Stena washes her hands clean in the river then goes about cleaning the drow's clothes. She will check the pockets, pouches -whatever- of everything she washes.
Shoot that's right about Buppido and language. Lex was translating!
Ok, Thom will ask Sarith in elvish when they are at the far end of the pen "So, does soon mean like... tonight? Or, a few days? Weeks? Sorry mate, just antsy to get out of here, yeah? Or hell, at least try. I'm done with this..." and he looks at the quaggoth excrement "shite."
@Spider, any word on the waterfall question and map with the stars on post #286?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Lia joins in on Jimjar’s bet ((survival check roll for Jimjar: 2 (plus any modifier?) )). She’s happy to engage in anything that makes this place a bit more bearable, and a bit more like normal life. She likes his energy.
While fishing, she’ll try and rinse and wash herself, wherever possible. Mostly this would just look like she’s fishing probably ((…but if you need sleight of hand check, here it is: 4 )).
She’ll also keep a look out for anything that may have been lost down the falls, or flowed into the river. She couldn’t hope to find a little flute or a penny-whistle, surely… but she keeps her eyes open for anything small and useful anyway…
((Thom's at the top of the waterfall, so can't really judge the distance, other than that hit the water somewhere below his sight, you're not even able to see the spray that would be kicked up from where you are up above, so you know it's well beyond 60 ft. If you've been on work details and or if you were conscious when you were brought here, you would be aware of at least some of the tunnels, but in speaking to the other prisoners would know that there are three, one to the northwest, one to the southwest and one to the northeast. Or from the perspective of standing at the bars, straight ahead, to the left and to the right.))

Jimjar goes the whole shift without catching anything, ending up shivering and cold. You manage to pull a pale salamander like creature from the water, but it's more than he got. You're all damp and cold.
"Looks like I owe you!" Jimjar says as you pull the wriggling creature out and drop it in a sack.
You're certainly able to bathe yourself in the frigid water, the drow don't seem to care. You also spot a tooth, maybe the length of your index finger, partially buried in the bottom of the stream.
Stena:
The stream's water is frigid, and your hands quickly become a bit numbed. One of the drow needs to be more diligent with their wiping.
Galingal:
Stool's tendrils pull it under his cap, where it's secreted away somewhere within his fungal body.

Galingal nods as he realizes Stool has succeeded in hiding the dagger. His mind momentarily ponders the compartment that Eldeth thinks might be in the hilt.
<It is a drow weapon,> Galingal thinks. <It could be a poison compartment. Now look like we are cleaning. We do not want to draw any attention now that we have found a weapon.>
As he continues cleaning, he does have one more question.
<Stool, you are hungry and the dagger is not food. What does your kind eat?>
He does his best to look like a docile servant cleaning until they are herded back to the cell.
@DM - Not sure if this is still pending your review, apologies if it is!

Lia actually enjoys the fishing, and the wager with Jimjar.
And although it was cold, she’s pleased to have been able to bathe, to some degree, and at least rinse the under-clothes she’s wearing, in the stream.
She even manages to completely submerge her head and mask (under the pretence on a slip or a stumble), to splash away most of the days-old food and blood.
When Jimjar says he owes her for the bet, she nods (with a smile showing in her eyes), and she hold up her fingers (‘five’), and then wags one finger at him (‘don’t forget!’), in a light-hearted way.
With a day like this, and the prospect of escape, she has a renewed fire about her.
Finally she finds and hides her new-found tooth.
Back in the cell, when she has an opportunity to study the tooth a bit better, she considers whether it could cut her mask off or even be used as a weapon ((let me know what uses it might have mechanically in-game, if any)).
Stool and Eldeth join you in studiously scrubbing the floors.
<Food. What do you eat?>
Thom:
Sarith blinks, rubbing the back of his wrist against his forehead. "I'm, not interes--- nevermind. Um, not sure what soon means exactly, but if it's too long, the supply caravan will arrive from Menzoberranzan, and he'll have lost his window to humiliate them. So I'd say today or tomorrow? If he's made to bring us broth again, perhaps we'll learn more?"
Lia:
Jimjar grins, tapping his head. "It's all up here, though I hope you'll give me opportunities to win it back!"
