As the others return to the cell, Galingal will ask if any of them know what was happening that got the guards agitated.
Then with his back to the cell gate, he will shield Stool from prying eyes and ask to examine the dagger and see if his fingers can make any sense of the compartment Eldeth thought she found in the handle.
If there's no sound of guards, Galingal will sidle up to some nearby, listening for Thom or Lex. 'La' has also interacted with him, but that's too frustrating a conversation. He will show them the dagger and see if they can make anything out about the handle, showing them what he hasn't been able to figure out (thinking Galingal's failures could serve as help for them in their efforts).
((Whoever wants to can roll with advantage, though probably getting more help from the other than from Galingal. Were you trying to keep the dagger's existence secret from the other prisoners too? If so, make a Sleight of Hand for me. Wasn't sure if the 'prying eyes' were guards or fellow prisoners you were avoiding.))

(Prying eyes were the guards - Galingal is accepting that they're all in the same boat and need each other to get out - now once that happens he may think differently about Ront).
Buppido and Ront spot the knife and get excited, about to call out to Galingal, but Sarith gestures for them to be still, and they settle, Ront a bit more reluctantly. He's still got his eyes on the blade.

Later on maybe, Lia also gathers some of ‘the usual suspects’ around her (Lex, Thom, Galingal, etc), along with anyone else who seems interested…
And keeping a low profile from the guards, she produces a short length of the monster’s tail that she swiped earlier ((which resembles a short whip without much ‘reach’)).
She hands it to Lex first, miming a ‘whip-crack’ motion, before shrugging, as if she wouldn’t really know what to do with such an exotic ((ie, martial)) weapon.
She would shrug a ‘meh, you have it!’ gesture, to anyone who wants it, with her preference being Lex((since she has already said she’d help Lia)), then Thom, ((who has been kind)), then Galingal, ((who she feels a kinship with because of the masks)), and then Stena, ((who seems somewhat capable))…
@Rod…
((Her meta-choice would have been Stena, but in-game she really wasn’t aware that Stena was trying the same thing. And she hasn’t really spoken with her yet. Sorry @Rod)). :-/
[edit: cross posts too! Sorry!]
She would hand/show/offer the weapon to each of the PCs in that order until someone accepts it.
((OOC: btw, it’s a whip that doesn’t have the ‘reach’ attribute)).
Eldeth quietly fills Stena in on the dagger they swiped, before turning and addressing the room.
"Stool can also let us all talk in our heads... he says that... all of us," Eldeth seems to have trouble swallowing the idea of everyone being in on the telepathy, "should stand near him before we're ready to make our move. It only lasts a while though, and you still need to be pretty close to make it work, but we'll be able to coordinate without needing to say anything out loud."
((Galingal, Stool would have conveyed that to you via the link as well, which has now ended between you, Eldeth and the myconid, until whenever he re-ups it. Duration is 1 hour.))

"He didn't say before it faded, but I think he wants us to all gather as close to him as possible when it's time, to make sure everyone's included. He seemed certain he could get everyone. If you mean once it's up, it was what... half the length of this room or so, Galingal...? Oh wait... you couldn't see. Sorry... um, thirty feet or so?"
Galingal considers the dagger in his hands. So far it appears no one has any interest in taking a look at the compartment in the end of it he described. There was some noise but then that settled down. He does his best to stay close to Stool in case he needs to slip the dagger into hiding again.
"Eldeth," Galingal says loud enough for those nearby to hear. "Examine compartment more closely now? Maybe trap. Careful."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Thom says "By the gods, so if we DO escape, we might also have to deal with freakish monsters? Damn. Kinda wish they would've taken out more of the drow just there, yeah?"
Thom says "give it here" to Eldeth, Galingal, Stena and anyone else who might still be fussing with the compartment at the end of the dagger that they swiped.
Investigation with advantage? 13
Thom would also re-show the flint shard that he has, especially to Eldeth and Stena and anyone else who didn't see it. Buppido, Sarith, etc. "I reckon this'll cut a drow's throat real nice, yeah?"
"Man... be QUIET about it."and he sends a mean gaze over to Buppido and Ront when they start to get excited. "just chill, yeah?" And Thom nods at Sarith as he notices him also quiet them down.
Thom would wave his hand when Lia offers the makeshift whip. "I think I'll get along fine enough with this shank, at least for now, until I can find a bow. Should be tons around this place yeah?"
Lastly, Thom replies about the telepathic fungus (if that was told in common) "Wait.... that thing is telepathic?!"
((sorry all if I missed something! Was busy with work but back in action now))
((OOC: omg that’s crazy! A short tail whip lol. Nice!
Lia also found a finger length tooth from the river, while fishing. Does it look like that could be used as a dagger or a weapon too? Thanks.
If need be, she will examine it when they get back to the cell))

((Feel free to RP, but you can assume that you're told the gist of what went on... creatures entered the cavern, were dealt with by the drow.))
You're all eventually returned to the slave pen to wait out the rest of your 'day'.
Galingal can't make heads or tails of the dagger that Stool extrudes for him.
The scent of roasting meat wafts through the cavern, presumably whatever creatures it was that were killed down below.

Stena tries to shiver herself warm and dry while stretching her cramped hands.
She'll check in with Eldeth and Stool to make sure they are okay before checking with Lex, quietly,
"Ye manage to get anything off those bug things? Aye tried but my fingers were too stiff from the cold."
