Sylvio looks for a place he can use to sneak ahead and scout the area. He flips the hood of his cloak up and says to his friends “Sylvio will move ahead to-a see what we-a face.”
He moves up to a stall in hiding to look for anything out of the ordinary.
Sweeps pulls his leather cap down tighter against his head and lifts his maul off of his shoulder, gripping it tightly in both hands. “Ayuh”he nods to the others, echoing their thoughts of moving forward. “Let’s see what’s out there..and kill it again.” He strides confidently into the clearing, hoping to help Sylvio sneak forward by drawing attention from him.
Each and every one of the five express their resolution, the intent to advance and face the curse, to end the killing. Sylvio advances further, activating his mantle, camouflaging his presence. His senses keen, searching for enemy signs. In the most complete silence, the rogue reaches the closest, empty stall. Then, further beyond, a pile of barrels, tall enough for him to hide behind while crouching. Keen senses in the ready, he notices three grotesque figures. One moving in the alley at north, another two by the end of the streets, as if coming from opposite directions. Huge mounds of flesh, amalgamations of grotesque misshapen and decayed body parts. Arms stretched in supplication, legs bent and broken, faces contorted in anguish and fury, their mouths open in what from distance seems to be a silent scream.
That was the reason for the silence and the stench. It had to be. These things took whoever tried to enter the street and going by their position they were ready for an ambush. Gabriel’s words echo in Scarpaldi’s mind. It was brought by a pact with a devil. Maybe this devil decided to end them. Not that there was anyone or anything else beyond the three abominations. Not that his elven eyes could see. Even the crow was nowhere to be seen. But the sound of its wings still cut through the air. It will appear later, instinct spoke to the Swasbuckler. Like it did in the Magnificent Mansion.
Notes: I have updated the map in the Roll20 game. Feel free to move your characters anywhere behind Sylvio. The last showed map is kept on spoiler below. In case of doubt, as always, feel free to as in the OOC chat.
@Everyone, you can only act after @Althax posts Sylvio's reaction. @Althax, Sylvio notices the presence of the huge undead, positioned as if to ambush the party. He can warn the group on his initiative count, but doing so would break stealth. @Everyone, if Sylvio warns you your character notice the undead and you can roll initiative (except for Jynne, that already rolled Sunny's initiative). @Everyone, if Sylvio does not warn you, roll a Perception Check, DC 17.
As Sunny moves forward with the others, she looks behind and around various obstacles as they progress, but keeps focused on the direction to the source of her pain.
Without think twice Sylvio warns his companions of the impeding ambush. Immediately, the clusters of decaying corpses turn into his direction. One could say they had cast their eyes against the group, if only those things had eyes. Most of the heads and faces in its incomprehensible bodies carried empty socs, blood and purulent mucus running as if in mockery of tears.
As the adventurers take their position, finding each of the undead, a fourth one appears from a lateral street and the sound wings grows louder. A shadow runs past the five unlikely heroes and the avatar of the curse, the kotoribako incarnate, descends in its monstruous avian form. This time not alone. Atop of the winged specter a tall, crimson figure stands shrouded in chains. Hairless, male in form, muscular, face covered in his threads of iron and steel. Five feet from the ground he jumps from the crow.
“Now you spoiled the surprise.” He says looking at Sylvio while the avatar of the curse rises to the skies again. “An adequate punishment is order.” Then his eyes, cruel and aggressive, peruse the rest of the group. “For all of you.”
The screech of the crow echoes through the air, unison with wailing of the grounded undead. It’s a battle, you all can tell. A battle to the death, you know in your bones.

@Everyone, the undead will only be numbered after their first turn. @Althax, you may act. @Gruba, you may act after Sylvio's turn. @Paladin, you may act after Gabriel's turn. @Jynne, as you have rolled initiative before your last post I will consider the former value (18).
@Makkiu thank you, I will post action closer to initiative but in the meantime as much of this next paragraph is done as allowed.
Sunny gives an order to Chewy that he knows to mean be alert but do not attack for she knows the Mastiff is no match for the creatures ahead. Then expels a Tortl-ish hiss of pain as the source grows nearer, alert to the proximity of the Crow and its intentions at all times. She looks to position herself close to the walls keeping as small an area of needed defense in case it targets her again. insight14 to determine if the Crow's intentions are similar to her prior experience.
@DM
Chewy will only alert to any dangers he spots not already known to the group and potentially scare off any townspeople who may wander close. He will take no action against obviously skilled persons on either side but may very potentially risk himself to guard an innocent. Sunny understands the risks of keeping him with her.
Sylvio draws his scimitar and short sword. “Let-a us end this-a curse!” He then rushes up to the creature to the north and slashes with his scimitar along the creatures flank. The scimitar begins vibrating with booming thunderous energy as it swings along the flesh. 14 attack for 5 slashing damage and 3 thunder damage.
He then pivots his momentum and stabs into the flank with his short sword 14 bonus action attack for 1 piercing damage, before vaulting back and moving sliding as far from the front line, behind others if possible (fancy footwork).
Gabriel places his hands together and closes his eyes, then spreads his hands quickly as angelic wings spring from his back. His eyes snap open, glowing with celestial light.
(Action: Invoke Radiant Soul)
He climbs into the air and towards Sylvio.
(Movement: 20ft up and 10ft east - have moved Gabriel's token on Roll20)
"Let us see off these evil creatures and save the city!"

Brandishing his warhammer, Amadi suddenly grow larger (BA- Giant's Might), the runes on his hammer glowing. He steps around the corner into the alleyway and confronts the creature that slinks there. Swinging his hammer he brings it down on the creature.
Fast like the wind, Sylvio pulls his blades and voices his determination. Calling upon the power of his blood, the rogue approaches the closest of the enemies with rapier encased in thunder. His slashes strike true, both of them, tearing decaying flesh. Stale blood and pus oozing from the wound. The creature, if one could call was screaming in pain and despair, but this was true even before the attack. It was hard to say if the damage deployed by the swashbuckler had been terrifying or if the undead remained unfazed.
Gabriel is the next to act, centering his mind, hardening his spirit and releasing the celestial energy of his lineage. The aasimar rises in the sky determined to purge those cursed existences. He approaches Sylvio and prepares to continue battle while Amadi brings forth the might of giants, increasing his size and making his hammer rain upon the same creature Scarpaldi have targeted. Anvilfist fall unforgiving, splatter rotten ichor. Once again it is hard to tell how much of an effect it had on the exanimate.
The price of the hits come early. Proximity and wounds strength the horrid smell of the amalgamation of corpses. As rogue and warrior try to resist the miasma, the monster flings a detached clump of corpses at Sylvio.
Notes: I have updated the map in the Roll20 game. In case of doubt, as always, feel free to as in the OOC chat.
@Jynne, the zombie turn has not ended yet, I am merely leaving his attacks for the next narration post because if Sylvio fails the Str save the rolls change. You may post Sunny's turn already, but keep in mind that it will only take place after the Zombie's attacks. Chewy will not move into battle and until he does so he will not be attacked. @Althax, roll a Strength Save Throw. The DC is 16. @Althax and @Paladin, at the start of your turns roll a Constitution Save Throw. The DC is 14. @Everyone, remember to move your characters tokens in the Roll20 map.

With dexterous movement, the rogue retreats beyond the reach of any direct attack, the stench of decay now comfortably further from him. Sadly for Sylvio that is all he managed to escape. The amalgamation of corpses throws against him a portion of its putrid frame. Flesh hits the elf, latching on his body, constraining and compressing it. He tries but cannot muster the necessary strength to free himself. Instead, Scarpaldi feels his frame crushed. He knows immediately that he will not be able to move or free himself and making any attack would take a great deal more effort than usual.
The four adventurers watch in horror as their companion is entirely covered the piece of the undead, entombed alive by it. What should they even do to help they friend? Destroy the zombie? And there were three more of those. What if they target the others? Gabriel and Amadi were eye catching enough to warrant this kind of offensive. Not to mention the crow and the chained humanoid. If even the lusive swashbuckler had not scaped this thing, could the two of them hope to do better? It was hard to tell. The only thing everyone could know for sure was that the fight seemed destined to be harder than the battle at the Magnificent Mansion

@Jynne, it is now Sunny's turn. @Althax, Sylvio is now restrained and takes 28 bludgeoning damage. There is no saving throw to end this condition. @Paladin, Amadi is safe but the stench of the zombie is terrible. @Everyone, you notice that Sylvio is totally covered (has total cover).

Sunny responds horrified by the mass encompassing the Rogue and immediately leaps forward to his aide. Murmuring prayers and making gestures a golden spirit of what appears to be a Tortle like her but with a ninja mask and BoStaff float down with Radiant energy upon the space Sylvio occupies. As the figure draws a flat, pie shaped piece of something from the air and bites into it seemingly pleased, the image shimmers slightly giving off a healing effect. As it does this, Sunny moves into the space and tries to pull the mass off of Sylvio.
BA -> cast Healing Spirit (spirit's shape is my choice - hope DM will allow) Healing 4 - link holds description but fills a 5' cube healing whatever starts or ends in the space of her choosing (only sylvio), concentration spell, works three times as is moved as a BA on my turn if I choose. Doesn't heal undead. First time my preferred target starts or ends their turn in the space its in, to work again on Sylvio it would need to leave and come back or leave and he goes to it. I believe my spell casting ability is 3 - its uses are 1+spell casting ability so can be used 4 times before it runs out or a minute is up.
Move to Sylvio to assist
Action Using her clawed hands to remove the mass from him. Removal is the main focus will use claws to rip or retracted to pull whichever seems more effective. Not sure what to roll here - strength normal (+3) I think? If the Claws are found to be more useful her attack is +6 with them. I'll roll a 20 here and you pick which is more appropriate? If I can't tell, she'll stick to just strength. 5 no bonus added yet. Feel free to roll whatever else is appropriate.
