Things happened very quickly but you don't think the zombie was Bero or Nerise. It is now not really possible to check due in part to the giant Battle Axe wound in what remains of its head
“No… no I don’t think so. How does such an abomination come to be? Does this mean there is a necromancer or dark sorcery afoot?”

Olaerys looks through the darkening gloom, as the cave heads deeper in. "Dark ahead. Looks like it splits into passages east and west. Who is very quiet, Panga, would it be you? Would you like to scout ahead to see what is down each passage? I'll be right behind you, just whistle if you need us to rush in."

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Fr'reona moves towards the corpse then kneels next to it. She places a hand upon the fore head of the skull.
"May you dance, sing and do a little hop, hop, hop just for me. In the mean time be a peace as quietly as can be." she says giving the corpse it's final rights before standing up and following the group.
Randall, torch still in hand, kicks at the zombie a bit... regaining his confidence. "When we dispatched the scoundrels outside, I was near to embarrassment over how easy it was. It didn't seem Red Larch needed such a group of adventurers as you and we should have done it ourselves long ago. Now seeing this abomination... I am once again glad to have found your company."
For now he hangs back with the main group, waiting for the signal to advance.

With a quick nod, Panga heads down the passage to the right first, going only as far as she needs to see what lies ahead.
Stealth: 27
Perception: 23
Panga moves into the large circular chamber so silently as to be near invisible. A round, high-ceilinged cave opens here. It has two narrow exits, one leading west and the other east. A flat boulder sits in the center of the cave. It’s about six feet across, eight feet long, and three feet high. Dark stains color its top.
As Panga enters the chamber, they sense something dangerous above them. Looking up, you see two zombies on an overhang, waiting to spring some sort of trap. They do not notice the creeping Panga, who continues to the eastern passage, which leads into a small cave.
Motionless humanoid figures dressed in dirty clothes or scraps of armor are propped against the walls of this cave. Some are little more than skeletons with wisps of hair and skin stretched tightly over their bones. Others are fresher. A few old shortswords lie on the dusty floor.
Melchor nods ‘I don’t like leaving unknown necromancers at liberty to cause trouble later, especially when we’ve probably already drawn the attention of this self-titled “Lord”. Besides which, knowing there’s an ambush means we can turn it… ’
He looks around at the group ‘Be careful not to damage any of their possessions. I will have use for them.’
Olaerys uses his divine sense to scan the area, looking toward the passage way toward the left (west?) as well, trying to get a number count of enemies, undead. He will keep looking as they move forward, though not until Panga and everyone else are ready to move. He pulls out a javelin to get ready to throw at the undead above them.

You can't sense anything to the west. To the east, in the cave Panga scouted, at the edge of 60m, are 3 undead enemies. Above the entrance you have to go through are 2 undead.

"Let us cleanse this evil." Panga readies her bow and moves to follow behind Olaerys. "Shall we stand at the ready while somebody triggers their trap?"

At a whisper, Olaerys turns to everyone and asks "Are you all ready, I'm going to throw my javelin at one of those zombies up top, let's all attack together. Does anyone have a way of keeping those others from running down the passage toward us? Let's handle these two before we move on. Tell me when you are ready and we will attack at once."
Once everyone has declared actions, in coordination with everyone Olaerys throws his javelin at the zombie on the overhang.

"I do" Frail says as she produces her was and begins an incantation, dipping the wand low and then bringing it up in a crawling, spiraling motion and casting Entangle on the entrance under the undead

Ooc: Not bothering with initiative; Olaerys/Special/readied actions/Zombies. In my mind I see Olaerys running in ahead of the group, and entangle being cast just behind him where he stops and turns
As Olaerys enters the circular room, the zombies react, having been waiting for someone to enter. His aim with javelin is true, embedding itself solidly in Z1's chest. Undeterred, the zombies turn over a container full of rocks on Olaerys and jump down. As the do so, Panga unloads her knocked bow and hits Z1 cleanly. Vines suddenly sprout up from the ground, blocking the eastern cave.

Melchor leans on his cane as he inspects what's left of the zombie, to see if he can determine anything of use as regards its creation...

You can tell that this body was reanimated using the animate dead spell, but you can't tell how powerful the spell or its caster was

Melchor nods sharply to Randall. ‘Necromancy for certain. I can’t determine if it’s a specialist or a dabbler though…’

Ooc: EASE UP THE ROLL HAXX DRIZZT lol
Panga makes her way back to the others, a grim expression on her face. "This is bad. There is unnatural evil at work here."
She conveys what she saw to everyone and seems particularly disturbed by the flat stained boulder.
(I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop lol.)
