OOC: I know this isn't always a rule for DMs, but my rule is that Nat 20s are an automatic success.
Robin, Buddy is the first to see a pair of scarecrows several feet away. Baudric and Robin, you notice there are a total of six scarecrows. Keldon, there's a part of you that feels like something is wrong with these scarecrows. Something doesn't smell right if you will. As you stare at one, you swear it almost moves its eyes to meet yours. You take a few more steps and you notice something on the ground, a beautiful looking helmet. Here's what it looks like
Amelia, you also notice the scarecrows are arranged like an arch.
"Likely just the wind..." Robin comments, frowning as she looks to the scarecrows more closely. She glances back as Keldon pulls a helm from the bushes and simply places it on his head. "Likely should check things like that before simply putting it on." She remarks. "You never know what such a thing might do..."
“I mean… it’s a helmet I found in the grass. You think it does something other than lay in the dirt, that’s…” He looks confused, but he takes it off like he’s afraid of being impolite.
Baudric looks around, "Does anyone have a torch? Burn them, just in case. Better safe than sorry, and I see no one here to complain. Now that I think about it, no crops to protect either..."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Robin glances to the helm. "It is just usually best to make sure something isn't magical before you go putting it on. If it is magical, then putting it on might do something really bad, you simply never know." She acts like she is repeating something she may have heard from one of her instructors.
Looking back to the scarecrows, and getting back into that conversation... "Plus who puts that many scarecrows in one place?" Robin points out. "Normally you spread them out, so they can protect the field, but these are all grouped here together. Seems odd..."
"I have somethign better than a torch though..." Robin says, lifting a hand. She sends a blast of fire at one of the scarecrows...
Bral, you notice the same details that Keldon did and as you approach, one twitches its fingers.
When Amelia asks her question, Robin fires their firebolt and it hits one of the screcrows. It begins to scream and the others come alive. And now everyone roll Initiative. If it's higher than a 10, take your turn.
You have six scarecrows, one that's been injured badly due to Robin's fire.
Baudric decides to attempt his new magics and stabs his spear into the ground as he steps into range and raises his hand, the words he's never spoken and gestures he's never used flowing freely and shaping the world.

"You think it's just the wind?" Bral asks as he steps around to have a look. "I think we've seen weirder things in this realm than moving scarecrows."
