He left the decision about what to do with the last bandit with his companions and was that more relieved when they decided to end the man. Kramyra’s suggestion was strange, but before he could say something Ev’alish intervened. The dragonborn seemed too good to the liking of the half-elf, but his morality was good to stir the tabaxi.
In the silence of a corner the hurt ranger dove into meditation. Sorjen wanted nothing more than to conserve his forces, to heal even a little bit his wounds, but found something more. As he closed his eyes he could feel the presence of nature, stronger yet than he was at the forest. The land behind him, the breath of everything. It was like he suddenly could reach everything that lived, mark it as his pray. Hunter’s Mark, the words of Arin, one of his instructors on the Enclave, in his mind. I can cast it now, he knew. His connection with nature had grown stronger and taken the form of a spell.
He could feel the wind beyond the walls and not only with his ears. He felt like he could move with its speed and strike with its strength. Zephyr Strike, the old ranger voice echoed through his thoughts yet again. When he opened his eyes, the half-elf was sure of his ability to using two magic techniques. His body was stronger too, his wounds lessened.
“You where displaced by the Zhentharim or something other happened?” Sorjen asked on the dwarf as they reached keep, himself knowing full well how it felt to have to leave home. “Actually, help me see if there’s someone around.”
With the help of Gryrim the ranger cast his eyes upon the fortress, trying to see if anyone watched the group.
Notes: Sorjen makes a Perception check, hopefully with Gryrim's help (advantage).
A strange group this lot he thought while following the lead of others. They seem stable enough though. Let's see where this heads.
He stays near the main group watching them as they cross the small town. Methodically searching as they go, Gryrim is surprised when the stealthy one asks for help. "Aye. I was taught more eyes were better than less. What do ya need?" He offers any assistance Sorjen asks for.
“I will start a visual check of the keep center to right then back to center.” He answers to the dwarf, trying to notice an enemy presence. “I will leave center to left with you. As we check the center a second time we will invert the check - you look right and I left. Try to spot any kind of movement or reflection. The latter can signalize a blade or the point of an arrow, hopefully not from ballistae.” By Bahamut he hoped there was not a ballistae. If there was one then the only two things they could do would be run and pray to not be hit. “Better yet, we find nothing by the entrance.”
Sorjen still hoped to find someone in the keep. Someone to tell them the details of what happened. If there were no one there, then their best choice was probably to follow the tracks at the entrance of Nighstone that Khessa mentioned back at the temple. But first they would need to find the others goblins and take care of them, otherwise the ruined village would be sharp steel pointed to their backs. I knew adventuring wasn’t the easiest thing in the world, but I didn’t expect it to be that troublesome, the ranger admitted to himself.
The dragonborn wobbles a bit but sticks the landing, grabbing onto the handrail of the bridge. After tying off the rope to something secure, he helps everyone else across.
Once everyone's on the other side, he approaches the doors. "Ready thyselves. Anything could be inside."
Khessa smiles encouragingly at Kan: "Hey, are you kidding? I just saw you face, in quick succession, worgs, goblins and a whole gang of Zhentarim... 'You don't know if you can do it'? You did an awesome job before, and so you'll do now. Don't worry, it will all be fine"
Then she readies her blade and her spells, going through the gates.

Gryrim listens intently to Sorjen's instructions. He had never felt such exhilaration. Pouring beer and mulling cider had been ok but the patrons where what made barkeeping enjoyable. This, however, was edge of the stool exciting - the stuff bards had sung about in his tavern. Now he was living it.
He looks left and right, just the way he'd been told.
"Nobody took any care of those two fallen guards..." whispers Khessa to her friends "so I think it is unlikely that we find human survivors. They would have not left their comrades here to decay."
Then she goes to the front door. She casts Light on a pebble. She throws the now glowing pebble through one of the shattered walls (so that inside there will be now light enough to see... and if someone is inside, they should be inclined to watch in the direction of the sudden light, not in the direction of the door). Then she opens the door.
If there is nobody inside, she goes on and enters to explore.

If he misses his footing, Ev’alish holds onto the rope so he doesn’t fall into the water below, then climbs back up to the party.
Khessa helps him back up, if needed

Kan just tries to stick to the middle of the pack, and use the burly ones as human shields if they’re spotted

“Thanks for the help, Eva’lish, and yes I’m ready.” Kramyra says with her tail twitching as she imagines what might be inside waiting for them.
Gates.
Kan has a tool out and at the ready. He’s balanced on the balls of his feet and crouched. He looks a bit spooked, his breathing is spiking.
“I have to confess something… I’ve never fought anyone a day in my life before today. I didn’t really know if I could do it.”

While Khessa heads to the front door, Kramyra wants to take a look from the one of the shattered walls and quietly climbs over the rubble.
