Whoopsie pulls out a metal tube about a foot in length and an inch in diameter. One end has a metal cap over it with a hinge to one side.
"Llift the cap while I slide this mechanismm.", they say while grasping the base of the tube in one hand, and holding a thumb against a lever in a slot along the side.
"Welcome to ask Evar or Kay what needs doing if you want to lend a hand, or Boskin and I were about to head and get the horses and wagons, if you wanted to help with that, it might take a bit to keep them calm with the blood and hydra and bulette stink.",Brucho offers Randy as he's shimmying out of his camouflaged over-suit, to reveal a chain shirt and rugged travel gear underneath.
Evar grunts at Coljin's question. "Meat texture's bad, and flavor's worse. Hide, claws and bones got value though. Sometimes organs. Armor, weapons, crafts."
As Dornikal opens the end, and Whoopsie pushes the lever, flames erupt out the end as a chunk of fire agate protrudes.
Whoopsie gives a purring chuckle, and Dornikal realizes the fire that licked his hand had no heat. He wagers its similar in function to a spell he knows Coljin has cast before.

"Iit's a torch that never goes outt! Tthe name I use for it is Fire Lightt! Tthe gem is fire agate, it's a punn. Bbut it does use rubies to make the flamess. Jjust have this one now, trying to market them to selll. Aas long as you don't need heat of a real flame, they are superior to torches in every way, but people paying a copper for a torch don't want to pay what it's worthh..."
The two brothers, having shed their outer layers, accompany Randy in the direction they left the horses, out the side of the clearing you entered, but further up, where there is a hydra-sized path through the trees. The fight is over, but he notes they still remain vigilant, crossbows ready at hand if needed. After a few minutes hike, you arrive at the two wagons, each with a team of horses, and a pair of riding horses as well.
"Driven a wagon before?", Brucho asks.
[you're welcome to have asked questions or made other small talk on the walk, if there was anything you wanted to as Brucho or Boskin.]

"Oh, yes. So how used to this kind of stuff are your animals? If I've got some land shark blood on me, are they going to try to stomp me into the ground? " He's just been sounding out Brucho for the typical touristy type stuff: which Inns are good, things he would recommend seeing while they are here, etc. If he has some fruit left in his stores, he will get some out to share with the horses (and if any are left over, with the two brothers).
Sure, the magically matured trees at the dragonborn oasis could have born fruit you'd have been able to have some on hand for the horses and men.
"We've got an ointment that Whoopsie put together we'll rub on their noses first, doesn't smell good, but it'll ease them into it.", Boskin remarks, pulling a couple tins from one of the wagons and tossing one to his brother as he sees you pull out some fruit and slice it.
"They'll like that, if you want to feed them, we'll dab 'em."

Randy sighs, shaking a nipped hand. "There's a reason why I don't ride and walk everywhere. Something about me brings out the contrary in horses. Nobodies been able to figure that one out. Maybe I'd better let you get them calmed first."
"These would be excellent down in the mines and halls, we got too much smoke around so something like these would be nice to have. Aye don't think they'd work in any human city aye've been through though. The draw of the gem's worth would get out and people'd steal it. Unless ye have a small enough ruby..."
He returns the Firelight with a thoughtful nod,
"What else ye have with gems? Ye really should consider following Dumathoin, the work yer doing is exactly what he wants. Ye manage to combine exploration and gems! Glorious!"
"Yeah, that's Gust, she's a bit prickly at times. I'll get her, if you want, you can try Star there, he thinks he's a prince among horses, as long as you let him think you agree, you'll be fine. If you'd rather, though, we can get the horses, if you don't mind unblocking the wheels and untying the hitch on the wagons?"
((You can make roll at advantage for the fruit on Animal Handling with Star, if you want.))
"Yyes, they don't burn anything, so wouldn't poison the air in a minee! Tthe dwarven market was not one I had considered, thank youu!"
He pulls out a set of goggles, where the lenses seem to be matched slices of polished agate, cut and opened like a book, the concentric rings giving an eerie impression of eyes.
Looking closer, the surface of the agate is etched with intricate lines and patterns.
"Aany guessess?"

"Nice, nice. Aye can image there's a market for both those. What is the quality on agate? Looks like ye could potentially get more than a dozen pairs from a bigger agate, also does each eye have to be from the same agate? May aye?"
Dornikal reaches out to get a better look at the sliced agates.
"Hm. This one is a bit thicker than the other, doesn't mess up yer spells? Good to know how much room ye have to make mistakes. Like aye says, this is the work that shows the greatest worship to Dumathoin! Aye never knew there were these kinds of possibilities..."
Randy looks at the activity. "Perhaps we should lend a hand...?" He looks over at Brucho for some direction.
Helping as best he can, he starts working on cutting up the bulette as shown, watching carefully and trying to emulate what he is shown.
"Are there any uses for it other than for food and armor plating?"
Whoopsie pulls out a metal tube about a foot in length and an inch in diameter. One end has a metal cap over it with a hinge to one side.

Dornikal does so, wondering where the gems are, but presumably will soon find out.
"What do ye call it?"

Dornikal inspects the gem as he asks,
"What roll does the gem play in that? Any special cut?"
Investigation (with proficiency): 10
"Does it ruin the gem? Ye have more?"
Randy goes with Brucho to see if he can help with the horses.

Randy starts being friendly with the horses, giving them the fruit pieces while talking to them softly in elvish.

This does not start well....

"Uh... Glasses of... stone seeing? Aye'm not much of a magic guy mehself. Nice cuts on those stones though."
He leans to the side to see the thinness of the slice.
"They really got the right angle of them. Does the matter for whatever they do?"
"Tthey can let me see if things are magical, or when it's dark out, I can adjust them to be able to see in darknesss!"

Randy gives Star a try:
Animal handling with advantage: 9
((Had to figure out the mechanism this thing uses for advantage. Got it now.))
Star accepts as his royal due the attention Randy gives him and seems appreciative that SOMEONE finally recognizes it.
The horse shares an eyeroll with Randy, and nuzzles him for more treats, as is his due.
