Py answers Auger, ‘No master. There are very large nests on the aerie above, but there are women with bundles there too.’
In a few moments, the tram reaches the landing. A Guard Lieutenant, (L in the linked map), seems to have ordered one of the other guards, #1, to detach from the rest and move toward you. She, the guard, carrying a polished spear and shield and wearing imperial colors, stops 30’ from the edge of the landing, and yells an order. “NO VISITORS ARE ALLOWED. RETURN TO THE CASTLE IMMEDIATELY. CHERU FENGUR PADWA!.” The last words were in a tongue you do not recognize, none of you, except for, it seems, the Eye. His eyes, which have dimmed somewhat as the tram rolled to a gentle halt, immediately take on their magical darkness once again, and the tram shudders slightly as it begins to inch backwards.
At that moment, something enormous drops out of the sky, slamming into the tram’s right side, then rolling away into the mist only to spread its huge wings and pull up as it disappears from view: the same roc and rider you attacked earlier, returning the favor. As a result of this gargantuan blow, the tram pitches 90 degrees counterclockwise, threatening to spill all of you out of it and down into the misty emptiness below.
Tamazaert’s head cracks against a ceiling beam, and she pitches off of the tram, screeching, and only barely grabbing hold of a corner wall, but she is hanging on by a fingernail and screaming.
Benita is beside her. Her reflexes were immediately at work, but taken by surprise, she had no time to avoid falling into one of the side poles, but she manages to hold it as the tram swings back. She is hanging by both hands, but reaches out one of them to steady Tamazaert. "I'VE GOT YOU!!," she yells, but whether she does remains to be seen.
Granophyre smashes into a bench, then slips upside down but takes hold of the edge of the tram wall with one hand. "OH MY!!!," the sage yells.
The Eye, like a statue glued to the floor, does not lose his balance, or fall, but merely pitches with the tram and back to equilibrium again as if locked to the vehicle. The tram itself has taken no damage whatsoever from this assault.
Please roll a STR or DEX save vs DC15, as previously safe surfaces now threaten to slam into you as the vehicle pitches around on its pulleys. If you make the save, you hold onto a pole or other solid part of the tram and do not drop into the darkness. If you fail, take 2d6 bludgeoning damage, and roll on the following table (with no bonuses. This is pure dumb luck):
1-5 not holding on. Will start falling at the beginning of the next round.
6-10 hanging by a fingernail. Someone else must help you up or you will fall at the end of next round.
11-15 hanging by one hand. Roll another DC15 STR save next round. Success: use your entire turn to pull up onto the tram. Failure: roll on this table again.
16-20 hanging by both hands. Use half your movement next round to pull up onto the tram.
Everyone roll and post your results first, with no additional actions except for reactions appropriate to this turn of events.
You are now situated like so, pending possible falls. (The tram will begin to move 5’ backwards each round when we enter initiative.)
(Just to be sure I understand: Tamazaert will fall if nobody helps her. Benita could just climb back on her turn, but she is trying to help Tama, but it seems that will only happen on her turn. Does this mean she is now hanging by one hand?)
Varielky's reflexes aren't so quick, so she doesn't manage to grab onto the wall next to her. Falling down on Snow, consequentially interrupting his attempt to hold onto a pole or wall, she nearly causes him to fall down completely. She, however, now lies against the "floor" that was the car's wall, completely out of danger for the moment. "Hold on!" Varielky calls, trying to get her bearings and adjust to this unexpected development. "I'll pull you up, just HOLD ON!"
(OOC: the tram was knocked to the right, but has now returned to its normal position. The walls are the walls and the floor, the floor again. Benita is now hanging by one hand. The other hand has grabbed Tamazaert. Benita will need to make a STR roll on her turn to keep Tamazaert from falling, in addition to rolling on the falling chart above.)
Only Auger and Varielky remain on the tram. Snow is barely clinging to the vehicle, and needs help or will start falling at the end of this round. Granophyre is holding on with one hand, as is Benita, but only barely: the other hand grasps Tamazaert’s, who slips away and is now swinging beneath the tram as she screams. The guards on the terrace are more or less frozen in place out of shocked confusion until the Lieutenant barks an order, and in response, the imperials ready their weapons. Guards 2 and 4 load crossbows, the others lower their spears.
Varielky tries to pull Snow up first (Athletics 15, if needed. 12 if it is a straight Str check). Then, feeling the tram slowly backing away, she calls to everyone, but especially Auger and Snow who are already standing: "Jump onto the landing! I'll help the rest up!" Varielky was quite confident with her ability to jump short distances, or even not so-short ones when needed.
(I assume this takes an action, so for now, that ends Varielky's turn.)
"I can move to the landing from a distance,"Auger says, responding to Varielky. "I will assist those on board along with you. Still these guards need some distraction."
Auger presses for speed and reaches into the Sea of Stars and finds himself already there, casting something. "Yes. That is going to create some delay," they agree. Auger quickly bring his senses back to the tram while his other visualizes a distant misty lake. Auger steps over to assist Benita or Granophyre, whoever appears to be in the worst situation.
As Auger acts in the real world, his other draws forth a stream of fog and brings it into the landing, between the tram and the guards. Yes, that is the idea, Auger thinks, though he sense the other is no longer there to respond.

Varielky pulls Snow up onto the tram while Auger casts fog cloud at J12, as a bonus action. (I wrote above that Benita, not Granophyre, had taken hold of Tamazaert.)
Benita attempts to pull up while holding onto Tamazaert, but, rolling a 1, loses her grip and both women begin to fall, and Benita calls out, "FLOCK!!," as Tamazaert screams anew, but at that moment, Auger reaches down to grab Benita's hand, holding them both up. Auger, Benita, and Tamazaert are now a human chain hanging from the tram. Tamazaert manages to snag a crevice in the escarpment wall with her boot, relieving the pressure slightly, yet as the tram slowly moves, Auger, Benita and Tamazaert are being pulled diagonal.
Granophyre drags himself up onto the tram behind Auger.
Everyone except for Auger loses sight of Guard #1 and the Lieutenant behind the fog.
Guards #2 and #4 move to opposite sides of the landing, and, interpreting Auger’s spell as an offensive action, pull their triggers, aiming at Varielky. One of the bolts whistles past, but the second one, from Guard #4, connects with the shield-maiden’s sword arm, inflicting 8HP piercing damage, despite her benefitting from half-cover due to the tram walls.
The Nurses rush to the closest stairway to get away from the action.
Varielky runs to the three, trying to pull them all up at once. "Hold on to each other!" She yells, even if it is obvious they wouldn't try anything else.
Her arm is hurt, but she cannot let that stop her. Varielky steels herself, knowing that pulling all that weight with one arm hurt and the other limited in manoeuvrability because of shield will not only be hard, but most likely excruciating too. No matter, losing Benita and Tamazaert (and Auger? I didn't understand if he's also at risk here) would be far worse. Then, she pulls.
(Varielky's "lift" capacity should be 600 lbs, which I imagine should be enough. Anyway, if a check is needed, Varielky will use her inspiration to gain advantage here. Can't risk a 1.)
Strength Check: (7, 9 - advantage)+5=14, an additional +3 if Athletics.
(OOC: I think the Fog Cloud is a little small, it should be 20' radius)
Snow breathes a sigh of relief as Varielky pulls himself up, but he has no time to thank her before she darts off to save the others. Taking stock of the situation, he moves across to Tamazaert as she is pulled safely up onto the tram.
"Trust me, I will get us off this death trap, although it is out of the frying pan and into the fire I am afraid", he says with a re-assuring smile.
He quickly turns to Strewn and says, "Jump off the tram and use the fog for cover. You can do it, you got this", inspiring him.
Just as quickly as they disappeared, they re-appear next to the cloud of fog, using it to cover themselves from the guards, but visible to the others on the tram. He waves the others over to join them.
Movement: However much needed to get up and move to Tamazaert Bonus Action: Bardic Inspiration for Strewn (d8). Action: Cast Dimension Door taking Tamazaert assuming she agrees, using Treewild Cloak, heading to I14 and J14 (hoping there is more in cover if the fog cloud gets increased in size, so might change the location to better suit after the map is updated if that is ok. Or you can choose a good spot out of immediate danger for us)
(OOC: Oops, @Volcano, you’re right of course. I have expanded the cloud; Also, the two crossbow men must have moved farther to be able to fire.)
Snow and Tamazaert appear on the landing at I16 and J16, the young woman gasping in surprise, and looking at Snow with wide eyes. “Thank you!,” she whispers.
Meanwhile, Granophyre’s stone-gray complexion goes a shade pale as, following Snow’s path, he witnesses the landing recede farther away by the second. But seeing the bard reappear on the far side, the old sage nods, sets his jaw, makes a running start and leaps across. But even with Snow’s charms, only the old dwarf’s upper body makes it completely to the landing, his legs hang off the edge, flailing in the air. Yet though old, his arms are not lacking in strength, and the scholar, grunting with effort, pulls himself onto the landing.
"You two get across," Auger says to Benita and Varielky. "I'll be able to move across after you two go." Despite things working out for the moment, Auger feels a sense of disquiet within himself and readjusts how the power from the Sea of Stars sits within him. This appeared to happen regularly after meeting himself as he did.
Auger then sights the two crossbow wielding guards and sends a bolt towards each of them, hoping to at least distract them with his coiling blasts.
Py, stay close to them, we may need to cast a spell on Benita or Varielky to help them with a climb, if needed.

Py invisibly shifts position. Auger does likewise and fires two blasts, which both hit their crossbow-wielding targets, who rebound off of the walls behind them but remain standing though badly buffeted.
Benita La Cass now has her bearings. She springs up to the narrow tram wall and performs a leaping cartwheel from it to reach the landing wall, then moves to Tamazaert, concealing herself in the fog cloud. Tamazaert now sets her jaw and draws her shortsword.
The two crossbowmen advance again, and return fire at Auger.
#2 crits, for 12HP
#4 hits with a 19 for 11HP
#1 and #3 raise shields and spears in a defensive stance, dodging as they move toward you.
The Lieutenant, also ready for action (dodging) orders the nurses to continue onwards, which they do.
The tram continues its motion away from the landing, picking up speed.
Varielky takes a few steps back into the tram and then prepares herself to run. "Clear the way!" She calls to those still standing close to the edge, but she doesn't really have time to wait until they move, with the tram accelerating away. Varielky runs forward, then leaps up and away, towards the landing.
Action: Dash, to have enough movement for all that's needed. Move: 10' back to I-22, then run those 10' again to make a running long jump, which for Varielky should be 20' long after the 10' running start. In case an Athletics check is needed for the height (I assume the tram moves diagonally down): 18+8=26. These are 40' of movement, so unless something goes wrong with the above, Varielky will run the 20' that remain towards #3 to... L-16, or something like that?
Snow watches Varielky make the jump and move to the east, and so moves across to the west until he gets sight of the crossbowman on that side. He takes hold of his violin as he does so.
"Careful you don't trap your fingers in the mechanism, you degenerate simpleton", he calls across to him, before moving away into the fog to ensure he has cover.
Before he disappears into the fog, he beckons and whispers to Strewn, "Take cover".

"Aaahh!"Auger calls out as he is surprised by the first crossbow bolt. Seeing he is the last on the tram, excepting the strange Eye, Auger then moves forward to the front of the tram and moves himself to the edge of the fog he, or his other, had called forth. He then steps forward into the cloud, hoping for even ground as he moves and then sits down in place. Finally he passes his senses into Py.
